Chapter 90 I’d Believe It
After hanging up, Adriel stared at the screen. Something about that account’s posts felt familiar.
He just couldn’t quite place where he’d seen it before.
He scrolled through a few more posts, then exited.
When he went back to the living room, Wynette looked up from her phone. “Wanna watch a show?”
She waved her phone at him.
It was a livestream.
Adriel was about to ask what she meant, but Wynette had already walked over. “I just got a call. Lorelei’s at the hospital making a scene, threatening to kill herself. She’s accusing me of stealing her man and demanding I come apologize.”
When Wynette got the call and heard Lorelei’s completely absurd demand, she found it funny.
Lorelei twisted the story around and then demanded a public apology? Seriously?
She should’ve dreamed a little bigger.
Of course, there was no way Wynette was going to miss this kind of drama.
Adriel’s face turned cold the moment he heard her say it.
He let out a mocking laugh. “She really has the nerve.”
Shameless.
On the way to the hospital, Wynette watched the livestream. Listening to Lorelei’s tearful, dramatic accusations, she clicked her tongue and shook her head. “What a moving, tragic love story. If I wasn’t one of the people involved, I’d probably believe it, too.”
Adriel stayed stony–faced throughout the drive. He didn’t find Wynette’s jokes funny at all.
Reading the nasty comments flooding the livestream made him uncomfortable.
He pulled out his phone and started firing off messages to Gavin.
Last night, he’d told him to get her out of the hospital. And what did he do? Just kicked her out of one hospital, and another one took her in.
Since when did Gavin handle things this badly?
Lorelei was threatening suicide in a hospital owned by the Holloways. Of course, that meant the company would get dragged into it too.
Gavin, who had originally planned to take his date out today, had also been urgently called back

At this point, he really wanted to strangle Lorelei.
By the time Wynette and Adriel arrived at the hospital, a crowd had already gathered outside.
Some reporters recognized Wynette and rushed forward, but hospital security blocked them off.
“Ms. Jewell, what’s your response to Lorelei’s suicide attempt and her accusations against you?”
Emushed
“Is it true that you came between Lorelei and Mr. Shepherd, causing their breakup? Were you the other woman all along?”
“Ms. Jewell, why did you arrive with Mr. Gallagher? Weren’t there rumors that you two didn’t get along? Or after falling out with Mr. Shepherd, did you hook up with Mr. Gallagher, which is why you cut ties with the Shepherds so completely?”
That last question earned the reporter a deadly glare from Adriel.
The reporter’s face instantly turned pale.
At first, everyone was focused on the relationship drama between Wynette, Noah, and Lorelei.
But the moment the reporter saw Adriel show up with Wynette, he immediately took it to another level.
He was clearly trying to drag Adriel into the mess.
The reporter thought he’d found a bigger headline than everyone else, but he forgot one thing.
This was Adriel. Not someone he could afford to mess with.
Adriel said nothing. He just pressed his lips together and gave the reporter a cold look, taking note of his name and the company he worked for.
Wynette stopped and faced the crowd. “No comment. I didn’t ‘come between‘ anyone, and I was never the ‘other woman.‘ As for Adriel and me…”
She looked at the reporter. “In business, there are no permanent friends or enemies. Whatever I have with the Shepherds has nothing to do with Adriel. Which company are you from?
“As a journalist, you’re supposed to stick to facts and fairness. Remember what you just said. If you don’t issue a public apology, I don’t mind taking legal action.”
Without waiting for a response, Wynette turned and walked into the hospital.
