He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 50

Sebastian sneered, raw mockery dancing in his eyes.

"You love comparing yourself to her so much, don't you? Perfect. Since Jana can't do this while she's pregnant, you can play her stand-in." The cruelty in his voice sliced through the air, leaving no room for mercy.

His words were like serrated knives plunging repeatedly into her chest.

His viciousness was terrifying enough to make the devil himself recoil.

The utter degradation pushed Helena into a frenzy of resistance.

"You're an animal!" she screamed, tears blurring her vision.

Spotting a brief opening, she threw a wild slap at his face.

But he was faster. Before she could make contact, he easily overpowered her.

Her defiance only earned her a deeper, more agonizing punishment.

He didn't stop until she was completely stripped of every last ounce of her strength.

Yet, even broken, she refused to bow to him.

One singular thought echoed in her mind: she had to get out of Riverton. She had to escape this monster.

Just as she felt she was about to pass out, his phone vibrated on the floorboards.

Through the haze, she spotted the caller ID. It was Janetta.

It was always like this.

Whenever she and Sebastian were together—whether they were fighting or trying to make peace—Janetta would magically appear right on cue.

And every single time, Helena was the one left discarded in the dirt.

No matter what happened, he would always choose Janetta.

The sheer exhaustion of fighting a losing battle hollowed her out completely. Her heart was a graveyard of dead hopes.

True to form, even in the heat of his anger, he dropped her the second the phone rang.

Helena scrambled to fix her clothes, desperate to drag herself to a safer corner of the room.

But his hand clamped down on her wrist, keeping her firmly pinned in place.

He composed himself instantly, answering the call. "Jana? What's wrong?"

Helena heard every single word crystal clear.

It clicked instantly.

The media had obviously caught wind of his sudden trip to her rundown apartment.

But cornering a nobody like her wouldn't sell papers. Ambushing a famous A-list actress, however? That was front-page news.

A bitter, self-deprecating smile touched her lips.

She had to hand it to Janetta; the woman knew how to play the innocent victim to absolute perfection.

And Sebastian fell for it every single time, didn't he?

Compared to the actress, Helena felt like an absolute clown.

His soothing whispers drifted into her ear. "Don't worry. Stay inside. I'm heading over to handle it right now."

"Okay. I'll wait for you," she replied, the picture of a compliant, understanding partner.

A moment later, the call ended.
