He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 899

Inside the apartment.

Sebastian glanced toward the entrance and spoke bluntly, "That should be Kyle. If you don't want him here, you can tell him yourself."

Helena was stunned.

That absolute asshole.

She mentally cursed his ancestors for generations.

Before she could even attempt to stop him, he was already walking toward the door.

A moment later, he opened it.

Kyle walked in wearing his little backpack.

And just as Sebastian had predicted, the boy let out a cough.

Hearing that sound made her frown instantly.

She knew Kyle suffered from the same issues as Skye—heart complications and asthma.

For someone in his condition, a simple cough could sometimes be fatal.

She had never been capable of speaking harshly to the boy, and now, her voice abandoned her completely.

"Helena!" Kyle hadn't seen her in a few days and looked a bit shy.

"Hi," she greeted him softly.

He walked up to her, gazing at her with large, obedient eyes.

"Helena, Daddy said our house in the Capital isn't ready yet. Since I can't stay in a hotel, he said we have to stay with you for a little bit. Is that okay?" The boy asked with perfect manners and heartbreaking understanding.

He wasn't trying to force her into anything.

He was just impossibly sweet.

Seeing him always made her think of Skye.

She couldn't bring herself to say no.

Finally, she let out a defeated sigh and looked down at him.

"It's fine," she murmured.

His eyes lit up instantly as he stared at her.

"Really?" he asked, needing to be sure.

She offered a gentle hum of agreement.

"Yay!" he cheered, unable to hide his excitement, before coughing a few more times.

She quickly handed him a glass of water. "Here, drink this."

"Okay," he nodded.
