He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 905

She slid into the passenger seat, showing zero interest in talking to him.

He didn't seem to mind, smoothly starting the car and heading back toward her apartment.

The silence held until he parked outside her building.

He got out, lifted the boy from the backseat, and carried him straight toward the elevators.

He clearly had no intention of speaking to her.

She watched him, letting out a humorless laugh.

She couldn't understand what gave him the right to act so moody.

Wasn't he the one who completely hijacked her date?

And now he was giving her the silent treatment?

He was acting like she had committed some grave offense against him.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

But with the boy right there, she couldn't exactly start a screaming match.

Taking a deep breath, she quietly followed him inside.

He caught her following him out of the corner of his eye but said nothing.

They stepped into the elevator, standing in heavy silence.

The doors opened on her floor.

He kept a firm hold on the sleeping child.

She calmly unlocked the front door.

Once inside, he carried the boy straight into the bedroom.

She stood in the middle of the living room, waiting for him to emerge.

A minute later, he stepped out of the room.

He didn't avoid her gaze, simply staring back at her quietly.

"Give me your keys," he said, his voice flat.

She frowned. "Why?"

"I'll go get your car for you," he explained.

He didn't elaborate, but anyone could tell he just didn't want Xavier doing it for her.

"There's no need," she rejected the offer instantly.
