He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 911

Her hands clenched into tight fists, a cold sweat breaking out across her palms.

"Is everything alright?" he asked, noticing her sudden tension.

"It's nothing. The food is just really good, and I was trying to remember if it tastes the same as the place I tried in Yatesburg," she lied smoothly.

He smiled, easily accepting her excuse and keeping the conversation flowing.

They fell back into their easy chatter.

She forced herself to stop looking in Sebastian's direction.

But her nerves were frayed, and she couldn't stop tracking him in her peripheral vision.

Until he finally turned and walked out the door.

She blinked, genuinely surprised.

She fully expected him to try and ruin the meal.

But her anxiety quickly began to fade.

After all, she had made her boundaries aggressively clear the other night.

He would be packing his bags and leaving her apartment in three days.

Once he was gone, they wouldn't have any reason to interact.

Given his usual pride, it made sense that he wouldn't completely lose his mind in public.

She lowered her gaze, letting out a small breath.

Suddenly, the urge to start fresh became overwhelming.

She realized she desperately needed to dive into a new romance.

Only then would she stop obsessing over her toxic past with him.

She took a deep, steadying breath.

They had just about finished their meal.

He set down his silverware and looked across the table. "Helena."

"Yes?" she looked up.

"Is it okay if I call you Lena?" he asked softly.

"Of course," she agreed easily.

He didn't hesitate, testing the name out immediately. "Lena."

She didn't offer a verbal response.

But looking into his eyes, she knew exactly what was coming next.

She let him take the lead.

"Would you be open to us trying to be more than friends?" he asked, his voice incredibly tender.
