Chapter 105
Hannah’s POV
I’ve already tried contacting her, I admitted, watching Finn’s expression carefully. “Both through email and her agent. She explicitly declined any collaboration with Sterling Entertainment.”
Finn leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the armrest. “Did she give a reason?”
“She’s skeptical of large production companies.” I hesitated before adding, “And there was something else… she seemed to have a particular aversion to the Sterling name specifically.”
“Interesting.” Finn’s voice betrayed no emotion, but I could see the subtle tightening of his jaw. “Any idea why?”
I shook my head. “Not yet. But I did discover something useful-Eliza is Ivy Hawkins’ close friend. She’s flying in from Europe to attend Ivy’s thirtieth birthday party this weekend.”
“Ivy Hawkins… Brian’s sister.” Finn’s lips curved into something resembling a smile, though it lacked any warmth.
“Exactly. I thought perhaps I could approach her directly at the party. A face-to-face conversation might be more persuasive than emails.” I took a deep breath. “But I’d need an invitation.”
Finn studied me for a moment, then reached for his phone.
I watched as he scrolled through his contacts and selected Brian Hawkins’ number. The call connected almost immediately,
and Finn put it on speaker.
“F-Finn?” Brian’s voice was pitched slightly higher than normal, a note of surprise and anxiety clear in his tone. “This is unexpected! How are you, man? It’s been-”
“I need an invitation to Ivy’s birthday party,” Finn interrupted, his tone cold and direct.
“Oh!” Brian’s relief was palpable, even through the phone. “No problem at all! Why bother with an invitation? I’ll pick you up myself! We could even change the theme if you’d prefer something more-”
“Cut the crap,” Finn cut in sharply. “I want an invitation.”
There was a brief silence on the other end. “Of course,” Brian’s voice had shifted to a more subdued tone. “Actually, I had one delivered to Sterling Manor last week. I’ll have another sent over immediately. And I’ll make sure you have the best
table-
That’s all,” Finn said, ending the call without saying goodbye.

Chapter 105
I raised an eyebrow. Well, that was efficient.
Finn’s lips quirked slightly. “Brian’s always been eager to
please.
Saturday evening found me standing before the mirror in my guest room, scrutinizing my appearance. I’d chosen a simple navy blue cocktail dress-elegant enough for the upscale party but understated enough not to draw undue attention. My goal was to blend in, locate Eliza, and make my pitch without creating a scene.
The Hawkins estate was a sprawling mansion nestled in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, reflecting against marble floors and gilded moldings. Waiters glided through the crowd with trays of champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and a string quartet played softly in one corner.
I felt out of place among the glittering crowd of New York’s elite, but I reminded myself why I was here. This wasn’t about social climbing-it was about securing Eliza Morgan for our project.
“Hannah Lancaster?” A cultured voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned to find Ivy Hawkins herself studying me with undisguised curiosity. “I don’t believe we’ve met.”
“No, we haven’t.” I smiled politely, extending my hand. Thank you for having me.
“Of course.” She accepted my handshake with cool precision. “Though I must admit, I was surprised to see your name on the guest list. How do you know my brother?”
“Actually, I’m here representing Sterling Entertainment.”
Something flickered in her eyes-a subtle wariness. “I see. And how is the Sterling family these days? I hear Finn has taken a more… active role recently.”
“Mr. Sterling is focused on exciting new projects,” I answered diplomatically. “In fact, I’m here to discuss a potential collaboration with one of your guests-Eliza Morgan.”
“Eliza?” Ivy’s perfectly sculpted eyebrows rose. “I wasn’t aware she was considering new adaptations.”
