Heaven or Hell: Loving My Twisted Billionaire
Chapter 35
Hannah’s POV
My heart lurched as I grabbed my phone, the screen lighting up with an unfamiliar number. For a moment, I hesitated, wondering if it could be Finn Taking a deep breath, I answered.
‘Hello?”
“Miss Lancaster? A woman’s voice, cool and efficient, came through the line. “This is Claire Watson, Mrs. Sterling’s personal assistant.
My hand tightened around the phone. “Yes, this is Hannah Lancaster.
“We need to confirm something, Miss Lancaster.” Her voice was calm but urgent. “Is your test result positive?”
I froze, stunned by the directness of her question. I hesitated, weighing my options before finally admitting, “Yes, I am pregnant. I was planning to contact
you.
There was a brief pause, then Claire’s voice returned, more rushed. “The situation has changed, Miss Lancaster. The Sterling family now requires not only an heir but also a legitimate Mrs. Sterling.”
“What?” I almost dropped the phone. “That wasn’t part of our agreement! I need to speak with Victoria directly.”
“Someone will arrive to pick you up in twenty minutes,” Claire replied, ignoring my protest. “Please be ready.” The line went dead before I could respond
I stared at my phone, my mind racing. A legitimate Mrs. Sterling? This wasn’t what I had agreed to. The arrangement was clear: I would provide an est receive payment, and move on with my life. Nothing more.
Rushing to my bedroom, I changed into a simple dress and grabbed my purse. Whatever was happening, I needed answers, and Victoria was the only o who could provide them.
The doorbell rang exactly twenty minutes later. When I opened it, two men in dark suits stood in the hallway, their expressions professionally Miam
“Miss Lancaster, please come with us immediately,” the taller one said. “The situation is urgent.”
“What situation?” I demanded, not moving from my doorway. “I’m not going anywhere until someone explains what’s happening
The men exchanged glances. ‘We’re not authorized to provide details, ma’am. But it’s critical that you come now.
When I hesitated, they stepped forward, one gently but firmly taking my elbow. Miss Lancaster, please there an inde
‘I can walk myself! I pulled my arm free, irritation flaring. At least tell me what a so urgent?
The older guard’s expression softened slightly. Someone in the cat will explain
The car ride was tense and silent. Instead of Amy, I found Claire herself waiting in the backseat, tablet in hand, looking every bit the viflammai exeval an
assistant.
“Miss Lancaster, she nodded formally. I’m glad you came. This is quite a special day

Chapter 35
“What’s happening? I demanded. ‘Why the sudden need for a marriage?
12140
Claire’s smile was practiced and perfect. “Mr. Sterling has just successfully completed the Davis merger on the West Coast. Upon his return, he made a rather surprising request to the family. She paused for effect. He wants to marry you, immediately.”
“Finn wants to marry me? The words felt foreign on my tongue. After how we’d parted, this made no sense. ‘I don’t believe it.”
Claire handed me a document. His signature on the marriage certificate. He signed it this morning.
I stared at the elegant signature. It looked like Finn’s, but something felt wrong. I need to speak with him.”
‘I’m afraid that’s impossible at the moment, Claire replied smoothly. “He’s in meetings with the board regarding the merger. But Mrs. Sterling will explain
everything.”
When we arrived at Sterling Estate, Victoria was waiting in the grand foyer, looking impeccably dressed as always. Her smile seemed strained, but her voice
was steady.
“Hannah, dear. Thank you for coming so quickly. I understand this is unexpected, but Finn has made his wishes quite clear.”
‘I want to see him,” I insisted.
Victoria shook her head. “I’m afraid that’s not possible until after the ceremony. It’s a Sterling tradition–the groom cannot see the bride on their wedding day until the marriage is legally binding. Superstition, perhaps, but one we honor.”
My suspicion deepened with every passing second. Claire had said Finn was in meetings with the board, but Victoria was talking about wedding traditions and superstitions. Their stories didn’t align. Why would they need to keep me from seeing him? My stomach knotted with anxiety as I realized how lattie control I had in this mansion of secrets.
Something was very wrong here–the rushed ceremony, the convenient excuses, the way everyone avoided my direct questions about Finn. But what choice did I have except to play along until I could discover the truth?
“This doesn’t make sense,‘ I protested. “Just weeks ago, he could barely stand to look at me when I left.”
“The West Coast trip changed him,” Victoria said smoothly. “Success often brings clarity. He realized what–and who he truly values.
Before I could argue further, I was whisked to a small room where several maids waited with a simple but elegant white dress. As they dressed me, doubt gnawed at my mind. Nothing about this felt right, but what choice did I have? If this truly was Finn’s wish.
The ceremony took place in the estate’s small chapel. There were only witnesses and a priest present. No music, no flowers, no celebration. And no groum, In Finn’s place was the marriage certificate with his signature already inscribed.
Victoria stood beside me, playing the role of family, her expression unreadable. The priest quickly read through the vows, which repeated mechanically, my hand trembling as I held the pen over the certificate
Just as I finished signing my name next to Finn’s, a commotion erupted at the chapel door. Amy burst in, her face streaked with tears, clothes disheveled as if she’d been restrained.
“Hannah, don’t!” she cried out, evading a security guard who tried to grab her Master Finn is dying! They lied to you! He’s badly hurt and refusing treatment!”
My blood turned to ice. The pen slipped from my fingers, clattering to the floor as Amy’s words hit me like a physical blow. Time seemed to slow as I stared

at her tear–streaked face, her genuine terror unmistakable. Amy–sweet, honest Amy–would never create such a scene unless something was terribly wrong.
‘Amy?” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the sudden commotion.
My stomach lurched with dread. All the unease I’d felt, all the inconsistencies in their stories–suddenly everything made horrible sense. The marriage wasn’t Finn’s idea at all. He wasn’t in meetings. And they had lied to me, manipulated me, used my feelings for him to get what they wanted.
“Amy!” Victoria’s voice cracked like a whip. “Remove her immediately!”
Two guards seized Amy, dragging her away as she continued shouting, “They were afraid you wouldn’t agree if you knew the truth!”
