330 Chapter 330

330.Chapter 330

But she never expected Nina to come along and destroy the connection she’d worked so hard to build.

And now, because of Miranda, Nina had even gotten herself in with the Carrolls.

Lily clenched her fists and screamed in her mind, ‘Nina! Why? You already have it all. Everything about you is better than mine. So why do you still have to fight me for everything?’

A cold glint flashed in Lily’s eyes. She wasn’t going to let Nina keep walking all over her.

Lily took a deep breath, forced a smile, and walked up to Miranda. “Miranda, long time no see! Want me to give you a tour of the house?”

Lily reached out to grab Miranda’s hand, but Miranda immediately pulled away.

Miranda said with a blank face, “No thanks. I’m not really into snooping around other people’s places.”

Lily bit her lip, her eyes getting watery. “Miranda, aren’t we friends? Did you forget I was the one who helped you out when people picked on you in Riverdale?”

Melody, who had been chatting with Sarah, looked up and smiled. “And who is this?”

Before Sarah could answer, Lily jumped in with a bright smile, “H, Mrs. Carroll, I’m Nina’s sister.”

“Oh, so you’re Nina’s sister!” Melody said, her face lighting up with warmth. “Nina’s such a wonderful girl, so I bet her sister is just as lovely. I heard you helped Miranda out before?”

“It was nothing, really. Not worth mentioning,” Lily replied sweetly.

Melody nodded, clearly pleased, and said to Sarah, “How lovely. Your grandchildren are truly wonderful.”

Sarah cast a discreet glance at Lily and then smiled warmly. “It’s all thanks to their own character. They’re just naturally good kids.”

Melody smiled, then slipped a bracelet off her wrist and placed gently on Lily’s. “Thank you for looking out for Miranda. “I didn’t bring much with me today, but this bracelet was a gift from Loren. It’s made from premium emerald. Hope you like

it.”

Lily stared at the bracelet, barely able to hide the greed in her eyes.

‘Premium emerald!’ Lily thought, her breath catching. ‘A bracelet this size could probably go for close to 30 million!’ Jewelry like this was worth way more than rough gems straight from the mine. Even if it’s not 30 million, it was still worth tens of millions.

She knew the Carrolls were rich, but she was floored by just how wealthy they really were. Melody just gave away something this pricey without even blinking.

Lily wanted to refuse, but she just couldn’t bear to give it up. She ducked her head, putting on her sweetest act. “Thank you, Mrs. Carroll. It’s the least I could do.”

Miranda was frowning so hard. She wanted to say something, but then she remembered what Nina had told her on the phone before they came over, so she bit her tongue and kept quiet.

Lily was absolutely thrilled with the bracelet. She reached out again, trying to take Miranda’s hand. “Miranda, it’s been so long since we last saw each other. I really missed you,

“You know I don’t have many friends. Come on, let’s hang out for a bit and chat.”

Miranda was about to pull her hand back when Melody suddenly chimed in, “Go on, Miranda. It’s been a while since you two caught up. Have a good talk. You’ll be going to school together soon anyway.”

Miranda hesitated, her eyes automatically seeking out Nina.

But Nina was completely focused on making coffee for the eldes, not sparing Miranda a single glance.

Miranda pressed her lips together and then muttered reluctantly “Alright, let’s go.”

If it weren’t for not wanting to ruin things for Nina, Miranda wouldn’t even want to spare Lily a glance.
