Chapter 472
The Wilson family’s place really stood out compared to the other houses in the village.
The interior was simple and minimalist.
But from the outside, the design was striking and impressive.
To anyone unfamiliar with these things, they might think the Wison family was probably the poorest folks around.
But as far as Nina was concerned, the Wilson family was definitely the richest.
Their house required a considerable amount for just the design one, and this place was located in the best area of the village.
Nina knew a little about architecture.
The Wilson family’s spot was the best in the village.
But what really stood out was the thick aura of parasites hanging around the Wilson family’s place.
When Ryan and Felix walked past her earlier, Nina picked up on the distinct parasite aura clinging to them.
Nina wasn’t like Ethan, questioning whether the man before her was really Ryan.
She was certain this was Ryan.
No one knew Ryan better than she did.
But Ryan didn’t recognize her.
That could only mean one thing: parasites had him under their spell.

And from the way Ryan kept clutching his chest, it looked like his wounds had only just started to heal in the last couple of days.
The spot
that got hit hardest was probably right by his heart.
Riggs and Zuri welcomed them inside, while Veda went off to make some coffee.
Riggs set down what he was holding and headed straight for the kitchen, leaving Zuri and Veda to keep Nina and the others
company.
Veda came over with coffee and handed Ethan a cup. “Try it, I made it myself.”
Ethan took the cup and set it aside, then shot Nina a look.
Nina nodded, signaling it was safe. Only then did Ethan take a si. “Pretty good,” he said.
He wasn’t much of a coffee drinker and couldn’t tell good coffee from bad.
Though it wouldn’t hurt to say something nice.
Ethan looked around and teased, “Back in school, Veda kept saying her village was poor. I honestly thought it was the kind of place where folks barely had enough to eat.”
Veda chuckled. “It really was tough here back then. But once things picked up, everyone ended up with a big house.”

Zurt refilled Ethan’s cup and started, “Mr. Swanson…
Before she could finish. Ethan jumped in with a smile, “Mrs. Wilson, just call me Ethan”
“Alright, Ethan Zari laughed. “So, is it just you and the girls visiting this time?”
Ethan said. “I’m here on a work trip, so I thought Id bring my si dong to sightsee. Didn’t Veda mention it? Nina got lost from us as a kid, we only found her back this year.
“We were tight growing up, and after all these years apart, I owe Her a ton, so I wanna take her everywhere I got
Ethan purposely skipped over the part about Nina being left bend by Vivian.
He used to say the same thing to Veda back in college.
Zuri’s eyes filled with sympathy. “Poor child, you must’ve gone rough a lot over the years.”
Nina chuckled softly, “It was okay. My adoptive sister was really good to me, so I didn’t really suffer much
After chatting for a while, Zuri suddenly asked, “Ethan, are you arried?”
Ethan shot Elaine a subtle look before answering. “No, I’m not rried. Honestly, getting married isn’t on my radar for the next few years.”
“I see,” Zuri said with a smile, then stood up. “You all just relax, go help out in the kitchen.”
Two hours later, dinner was finally ready.
The table was loaded with food.
But as Nina looked at the spread, she couldn’t help but frown.
There was something off about the dishes.
There were parasites in the food.
Nina frowned for a split second, but quickly composed herself.
After a bit of polite conversation, everyone started eating.
Nina didn’t say a word to Ethan or Elaine about the parasites in the food.
After just a few bites, Ethan started feeling lightheaded.
He slumped over and hit the floor, not getting back up.
Elaine’s expression shifted. She jumped up, ready to say something, but then she went down too.
And then Nina blacked out right after.
Zuri calmly set down her fork and looked at Veda. “Get ready. Tonight, you two are getting married.”
Veda glanced at Ethan, guilt flashing in her eyes. “Mom, does it really have to be this way? He’s the only one who’s ever been good to me. I really don’t want to drag him into this.”
Zuri shot her a cold glare. “You better think it through. If you don’t marry him, then it’s one of those two out there. It’s your call.”
Veda didn’t say another word.
