Perhaps because Shannon's words had struck too close to home, a flicker of hesitation crossed Vance and Laura's faces. It was clear something was holding them back.
Shannon wasn't in a rush to confront them. She simply turned away, raised her hand, and dismissed the mystic chains across the villa.
As soon as she did that, the swirling shadow of negative energy tried to flee.
"Bind," she muttered, soft but powerful.
In a flash, the mystic chains snapped back into existence—this time faster, sharper.
They whipped around the negative energy and crushed it inward, compressing it into a single talisman in her hand before anyone could react.
Her movements were so swift that not even the production crew or Caitlin had time to respond.
It wasn't until Kai, grinning from ear to ear, jogged over and scooped away the talisman that Caitlin finally snapped out of it.
She rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Shannon's feet, begging, "You can't hurt it! It didn't do anything wrong! You have to let it go!"
Seeing that, Kai reached out to pull her away from Shannon, only to receive a warning glare from her. Thus, he awkwardly pulled his hand back.
Shannon took the talisman and glanced down at Caitlin, explaining, "I'm only sealing it into the talisman for the time being. I have no intention of harming it. When the time comes, I'll let it out."
Caitlin was unconvinced. "Really?"
"Really," Shannon promised without hesitation.
The child's face immediately lit up, while the Callaghans weren't nearly as reassured. Panic flashed across their faces.
Whatever that entity was had been the root of all the chaos in their home! Letting it go felt like inviting disaster right back in!
