Chapter 569 The White Flash
Anything he said now was pointless.
Evander finally couldn’t hold back anymore. He stepped forward, his voice turning cold.

“Ms. Schofield, Gunther is with the Fifth Military. Even if he did something wrong, the Fifth Military should handle it. You don’t have the right to detain him here.”
Elizabeth looked at him. “Colonel Madsen, are you saying that one of your people poisoned my farm, and now you want to take him back and investigate him yourselves?”
Evander didn’t answer the question directly. His voice stayed firm. “This is an internal military matter. A civilian farm has no right to interfere. Hand him over to me. I promise you’ll get an explanation.” /
Elizabeth looked at him for a few seconds, then shook her head. “No thanks. I’ll get my own answers.”
She gave Desmond a small nod.
Desmond pushed Gunther toward the warehouse.
Evander’s face changed completely. He suddenly raised his voice. “Elizabeth! Don’t you dare!”
The Fifth Military soldiers behind him rushed forward at once, blocking Desmond’s path. Their hands dropped to the weapons at their waists.
The major leading them drew his energy gun and aime.
“Put him down!”
Desmond’s back.
The air became tense in an
instant.
Elizabeth stood where she was, staring at the energy gun aimed at Desmond. Her voice suddenly turned
cold.
“Colonel Madsen, I’ll say this one last time. Your man poisoned animals on my farm. This is my case to handle. You’d better tell your men to put their guns away.”
Evander gritted his teeth but didn’t move.
Neither did his men.
Elizabeth let out a small sigh, sounding almost helpless. “Fine.”
The moment the word left her mouth, a blinding white flash appeared out of nowhere. It burst from some unknown spot deep inside the farm, like a silent bolt of lightning.
The white light moved so fast that no one could see it.
The instant it flashed, the soldier’s energy gun was knocked from his hand. It spun twice in the air before crashing hard onto the ground.

Chapter 569 The White Flash
The gun lay there, crackling with fading arcs of white light.
At the same time, the soldier’s right arm went limp. A sharp crack of breaking bone rang out.
“Ahhh!”
The soldier’s scream ripped through the quiet afternoon.
Everyone froze.

No one saw how the white light had appeared. No one knew what it was. And no one knew where it had come from.
It was as if it had formed out of thin air. It struck the energy gun with perfect accuracy, snapped the hand holding it, and vanished without a trace, as though it had never existed.
The other Fifth Military soldiers instinctively reached for their weapons. But the moment their hands touched the grips, another white light shot past.
This time, three energy guns were knocked free at once. They slammed onto the ground, crackling with sparks just like the first one.
The hands holding those guns were all broken at the same time. Screams filled the air one after another.
A third flash never came.
Because neither Evander nor his guards dared to touch their weapons again.
They stood frozen in place, trembling all over, faces drained of color. As they held onto their injured men, they looked like a flock of frightened bird
Evander stood there, staring at his men’s limp arms and the energy guns still smoking on the ground. His mind went completely blank.
He had expected Elizabeth to fight back. He thought she might call for help, report it to the authorities, or even ask the First Military to back her up….
But he had never imagined this.
He didn’t even know what that white light was.
He didn’t know where it had come from.
He didn’t know how it worked.
And he knew even less what would happen if the next white light aimed for their heads instead of their hands.
Elizabeth stood where she was, looking at Evander’s face, now completely drained of expression. Her voice remained calm and unhurried.
