He walked back to Melanie, put the Cluckoo Eggs into his storage button, and said, “Come on. Let’s go home!”

The family of five headed back together.

After only a few steps, Vance suddenly turned and headed in a different direction.

“Dad, you’re going the wrong way. Home is east,” Raymond called from behind.

Without even looking back, Vance said, “I’m not lost! We’re taking a detour first!”

Melanie looked in the direction he was heading, and her face changed a little. “Vance… you’re not going to…”

Vance didn’t answer. He just picked up his pace.

He was heading straight for Seafarm Supermarket.

Melanie let out a quiet sigh, but didn’t stop him.

She knew how much anger her husband had been holding in these past few weeks.

Maybe blowing off some steam would do him good.

So she took the Cluckoo Eggs back out of her storage button.

The four adults each carried a box of eggs and marched straight to the entrance of the Seafarm Supermarket.

Vance led the way. He held one box of eggs in each hand, raising them high like he wanted everyone to see.

His bright yellow jacket stood out against the dull gray street.

One of the security guards at the entrance spotted him right away, and his face fell. “You again?!”

Vance grinned. “Yep, it’s me. I’m not here to shop today. Just passing by.”

He deliberately raised his voice on the words “just passing by,” drawing the attention of several

The moment they noticed the eggs in his hands, their eyes

“Hey, are those Cluckoo Eggs? I thought Seafarm Group blacklisted you. How did you get those?”

“Don’t tell me you bought them from Tycoon Farm?”

“Pale green shells with brown spots. That’s definitely Cluckoo Eggs!”

“They’re selling eggs now?”

Vance lifted his chin proudly. “That’s right. I bought them at Tycoon Farm. The limit is ten eggs per person, and there’s no forced bundle purchase.”

He put extra weight on the words “forced bundle purchase,” then looked at the customers about to walk into Seafarm Supermarket.

One middle-aged woman hesitated for a moment before walking over to Vance. She looked at the eggs in his hands.

“How’s the quality?”

Vance didn’t answer right away. He opened one of the boxes, took out an egg, and handed it to her. “See for yourself.”

The woman took the egg and held it close to her nose.

A light, fresh egg smell rushed to her nose. There wasn’t even a hint of the usual fishy smell.

Her eyes widened. “This egg… why does it smell so good?”

“It’s from Tycoon Farm. Of course it’s good,” Vance said proudly.

He sounded like he had raised the Cluckoo Chickens himself.

The woman stared at the pale green egg, clearly tempted. She had been a regular customer at Tycoon Farm before, but Seafarm Group’s unfair blacklist policy had kept her away.

Now that she was holding the egg, she wasn’t sure she could keep resisting.

“How much is a box?” she asked, ignoring the looks from the Seafarm Group security guards

beside her.

Vance pointed to the price tag on the box. “Not expensive. Just a little more than regular eggs. and it’s worth every penny.”

The woman bit her lip and glanced toward the entrance of Seafarm Supermarket.

Inside the supermarket, it was almost empty. A few cashiers stood behind the registers, yawning.

The woman looked down at the egg in her hand again. The fresh scent still lingered in her

nose.

Then she turned and walked toward Mercury Plaza.

“Hey! Wait!” one of the Seafarm Group security guards shouted. “If you’re coming in, you need to get in line first…”

“I’m not going in anymore!” the woman called back without turning around. “I’m going to Mercury Plaza to buy eggs!”

The guard’s face turned bright red. “Y-You know Seafarm Group will blacklist you for this, right? You’ll never be allowed to shop here again!”

The woman stopped, turned around, and smiled at him. “Then let them blacklist me. Tycoon Farm already has eggs. How long do you think it’ll be before they start selling meat and milk too? Why should I keep putting up with your nonsense?”
