Chapter 591 The First Meal
Chapter 591 The First Meal
Desmond knew that this kind of Swarmborn was the most dangerous.
The device suddenly vibrated.
Desmond lowered his head and saw a message from Elizabeth containing only a few words.
“Everything arranged?”
Desmond thought for a moment, then initiated a call with Elizabeth.
“Ms. Schofield, all fifty Swarmborns have been separated and contained. There haven’t been any casualties so far, but their emotional states are very unstable. Some of them have been smashing themselves into the walls continuously. They probably won’t last much longer.”
He paused before carefully adding, “Are we really raising them?”
On the holographic screen, Elizabeth was eating strawberries, her cheeks puffed out as she replied through a mouthful of fruit with a single muffled word. “Yes.”
Desmond fell silent for a moment, then asked again, “But they eat meat. Swarmborns have huge appetites They can eat half their body weight in a single meal. Our livestock facilities haven’t scaled up yet, and we don’t have enough meat to feed them.”
More importantly, the farm’s meat products were valuable. He personally felt the Swarmborns didn’t deserve them.
Elizabeth swallowed her strawberry, wiped the corner of her mouth, and answered casually.
“Who said we’re giving them meat? Who cares what they want to eat? Throw some vegetable scraps at them. Feed them whatever the Cluckoo Chickens eat. If they don’t want it, too bad.”
Desmond froze.
Whatever the Cluckoo Chickens ate?
They ate strawberry vines, cucumber vines, discarded fruit and vegetable stems, old leaves
Would the Swarmborns eat that?
Ms. Schofield, Desmond couldn’t help asking, “are you sure?”
Elizabeth nodded. “Absolutely. If they starve, then they starve
The call ended
Desmond stood in the monitoring room holding his device while staring at the vicious-looking Swarmborns on the screen, replaying Elizabeth’s words over and over in his head

it, too bad.”
Suddenly, everything clicked,
So, Ms. Schofield had been joking about raising the Swarmborns after all!
Her real plan was to starve them to death!
That had to be it!
45 Free Co
The more Desmond thought about it, the more convinced he became that his deduction was correct.
Excited, he clapped his hands and opened the internal communication channel. “Hexo, take some people to the warehouse and bring over a few baskets of fruit and vegetable waste for the Swarmborn holding area. Strawberry vines, cucumber vines, old leaves… anything will do.”
Hexo’s voice came through the communicator with obvious confusion. “Huh? Is that stuff for the Swarmborns?”
“Yep.” Desmond said. “Boss’s orders.”
Hexo fell silent for a moment and asked no more questions.
The savage Swarmborns deserved whatever treatment they got.
Twenty minutes later, several baskets of fruit and vegetable scraps were delivered to the Swarmborn holding area.

Calling them scraps was somewhat misleading. They were simply vines and old leaves trimmed from the farm each day.
Normally, these materials were used as compost ingredients, as dozens of tons were produced daily.
Back when the livestock facilities hadn’t opened yet, they had all gone toward fertilizing fields.
After the livestock operations started, some of it had been repurposed as feed.
The farm generated so much waste every day that they could barely use it all for fertilizer, so feeding some to the Swarmborns was nothing to feel bad about.
Desmond personally led the team as they pushed carts and distributed the materials cell by cell.
Aebi stood in the center of its confinement room, all six legs firmly planted on the ground, its foreclaws slightly spread, its blood-red compound eyes fixed on the door.
It heard footsteps, but they weren’t human footsteps.
It had already become familiar with the rhythm and weight of human footsteps. These were heavier. steadier, almost like a mech approaching
Then, the small hatch on the door slid open. “Food time!”

Then, a hand wearing protective gloves reached inside, dropped a basket onto the floor, and immediately shut the hatch.
Aebi didn’t move.
