What shocked them was that Elizabeth trusted them enough to hand over such a massive operation into
their care.
Even if it was only for a single day.
They hurriedly assured her. “Ms. Schofield, please don’t worry. We swear on our honor that we’ll guard the farm. handle all matters properly, and never betray the trust you’ve placed in us.”
Their solemn expressions actually made Elizabeth feel a little embarrassed.
After all, her “trust” came from absolute confidence in her control over the circles–not from blind faith in them.
Anything she didn’t allow others to touch simply couldn’t be tampered with.
Right then. Adam returned.
There was a hint of excitement on his face as he approached Elizabeth. “Ms. Schofield, I’ve found a suitable place for the new camp. I’d like you to come take a look and give it your approval.”
He also called Melton along.
The location really was good, situated halfway up a massive garbage mountain.
There was a relatively flat terrace backed by a steep garbage cliff, with only one narrow, winding path leading in–easy to defend, but hard to attack.
It was also just half a mile from the farm–close enough for convenience, but far enough not to interfere with future expansion.
Both sides were satisfied with the site, and the location of Hope Town Two was officially decided.
Back at the farm, Adam announced the good news to the townsfolk of Hope Town and made a firm decision–they’d move collectively after work tonight.
The townsfolk erupted into cheers, raising both hands in enthusiastic agreement.
However, Elizabeth–the outsider–voiced an objection.
“Mr. Rose, let’s postpone the move until tomorrow,” Elizabeth said. “Tonight, I’m planning to have everyone work some overtime.”
She’d be departing for Centria Planet tonight and wouldn’t be back until tomorrow evening.
If they didn’t plant the new potatoes tonight, the land would sit idle all day tomorrow.
Right now, money was tight. She wasn’t willing to waste even a single day.
But this time, they were planting a lot of potatoes. She had to prepare the seed stock and handle the

planting. Before departure, there was no way she could manage much of it alone.

Elizabeth turned to Fiona and discussed it with her. “Fiona, I’d like everyone to stay and work overtime Tonight. The task is to plant an acre of newly tilled land with potatoes. As compensation, I’ll pay double wages for the overtime.”
Fiona waved her hands quickly. “Ms. Schofield, you’ve already given us work and stable income. We’re beyond grateful! Staying a little longer to work isn’t a big deal. There’s no need for double pay!”
Elizabeth made the final call, leaving no room for refusal.
Overtime meant double wages. That was only fair.
She wanted to make money, but she had no intention of becoming some heartless exploiter.
She had her own principles and bottom line.
Adam, listening from the side, was deeply moved. On behalf of all the townsfolk of Hope Town, he gave Elizabeth a deep bow. “Ms. Schofield, thank you for everything. You’re the savior of Hope Town.”
In the potato field, the children worked with astonishing efficiency.
They d spontaneously formed a simple assembly line.
The stronger ones pulled up the potato plants, the more careful ones dug out the potatoes with small shovels, and the quickest among them gathered and sorted the harvest.
They cooperated smoothly, everything orderly and full of enthusiasm.
Before it was even time to clock out, the entire potato field had been cleared.
All the potatoes were piled together, forming a rather spectacular mound.
Each potato had been carefully wiped clean by the children, not a trace of dirt left on their skins.
The sea of golden yellow made the heart swell just looking at it.
Elizabeth was extremely satisfied with their results.
When it came time to settle wages for the day, she added an extra ten stellar coins to each child’s original pay as a reward.
The kids little faces flushed red with excitement, their motivation soaring even higher.
However, staring at the sheer volume of that potato mountain, Elizabeth realized she’d been so focused on calculating profits earlier that she’d completely overlooked the storage issue.
Fortunately!
