She raised the whip again and brought it down hard across his back.
His skin split open. Pain tore through him.
Damian’s knees buckled. He nearly pitched forward.
He clenched his fists and forced himself to stay upright, barely holding the kneeling position.
Isabelle sobbed hysterically, screaming through her tear fejot
“Sophia, don’t you have any feelings for him? How
cruel to Damian?”

keep going!”
Under Eleanor’s iron authority, no one from the Hall family dared speak up.
Even Bella thought her brother deserved it.
He had a beautiful, brilliant wife but insisted on chasing after this rebellious punk.
She couldn’t wrap her head around it. She really couldn’t.
“No! Sophia, please stop! It’s all my fault–hit me instead! Don’t hurt Damian anymore!”
Isabelle suddenly broke free from the guards and lunged forward.
Damian whipped around, voice thundering.
“Grab her! Don’t let her through!”
The guards moved fast, restraining Isabelle again,
But she kept thrashing, sobbing apologies.
“Damian, it’s my fault, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”
“Don’t hurt her, or I’ll skin you alive.” Damian’s eyes went cold,
deadly.

o a bitter m
Sophia’s lips curved into a bitter smile.
Then she brought the whip down again.
The third lash, carrying all her resolve and fury, struck down hard.
Damian’s shirt was soaked red. His shoulders trembled, but he stayed on his knees, stubborn.
“Damian, Damian…” Isabelle wailed.
Sophia didn’t flinch. She raised the whip once more.
Just as it was about to fall—
Isabelle tore free from the guards and shot forward like a bullet, slamming straight into Sophia.
The impact sent Sophia reeling backward.
She stumbled, lost her balance completely, and her head cracked hard against the massive vase,
The vase wobbled like a drunk, then tipped toward her.
Ford lunged and caught it just in time.

Blood streamed down Sophia’s forehead, blurring her vision.
Pain and dizziness swallowed her whole. The world twisted and
spun.
And for a moment, she felt… relief.
Just before she lost consciousness, she saw Damian look up.
That cold, arrogant man who controlled everything–his face cracked for the first time.
“Sophia!”
“Sophia!”
“Sophia!”
Panicked shouts. Everyone swarmed.
Damian forgot his injury and bolted toward her.
The sudden movement tore his wounds open, and his face went deathly pale, but he didn’t care. He just ran toward her.
“Damian! Stop–your wound-” Isabelle rushed forward to help him.
But Damian shoved her aside as if he hadn’t heard a word.

The Hall residence devolved into utter chaos.
Daniel’s fazz
was grim as he bellowed, “What are you all
standing around for? Get a doctor, now! And call the cops. She hurt Sophia–she’s done.”
Ford immediately took out his phone to make the call.
The guards seized Isabelle as she tried to run, dragging her toward the door.
n, help me! Please-” Isabelle sobbed and thrashed.
“Get her out. All she does is cry. Bad luck.” Eleanor slammed her cane on the floor.
The guards hauled Isabelle out in seconds.
Finally. Peace and quiet.
Damian stumbled toward Sophia, reaching out to hold her.
“Don’t touch me.”
Sophia used her last bit of strength to shove him away, ice–cold and distant.
She forced her eyes open, meeting his panicked gaze. She
smiled.

“Damian…” Her voice was weak, but every word cut deep. “This time… I’m making Isabelle… pay. You want forgiveness? Over my dead body.”
The words hit him like a bullet between the eyes. His hand froze
mid–air.
He understood. She was forcing his hand. Making him choose. Once and for all.
Then her eyes rolled back. Her body went limp.
“Sophia! Sophia…!”
Damian screamed her name, panic taking over. He scooped her up in his arms.
She felt light as a feather. Her blood soaked into his already bloodstained shirt.
Red on red. Impossible to tell whose was whose.
“Doctor! Where the hell is the doctor?!”
He held her like a caged animal, roaring at everyone around him, eyes wild with fear.
