Her Gilded Revenge For Stolen Fate novel Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Just then, a creaking sound came from the beams above. Celia looked up, and before she could react, a dark shadow shot down in front of her. She let out a startled scream.

It was not an assassin. An old tile had come loose and fallen, landing right in front of her and smashing the twisted silver bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet shattered instantly, revealing a chunk of black magnet hidden beneath the thin layer of

silver.

One of the broken magnet pieces landed on the cloth and stuck firmly to the Wheel of Fate. Celia went pale, her shoulders trembling uncontrollably.

Fortunately, the Queen Mother was kept at a safe distance by her guards, so she did not notice the strange interference with the Wheel. Celia quickly snatched up the magnet pieces and held them tightly in her hand.

Celia, are you all right?Vivian exclaimed, hurrying over to her. Vivian held onto her arm, and Celia struggled but could not break free.

Vivian, I’m fine. Let go,Celia said, forcing a smile as she gripped the magnet pieces tightly in her palm, afraid someone else might notice.

Vivian’s eyes were rimmed with tears as she shook her head. I’m really worried about you,” she said.

Lowering her voice, Vivian suggested, Celia, that old tile came out of nowhere. It could mean something. Maybe you should spin the Wheel of Fate again, just to be safe.

Celia wanted to refuse, but she noticed Vivian’s eyes locked on her clenched fist. Her heart tightened, and the color drained from her lips until they were pale as paper.

Did Vivian figure something out?Celia wondered. Deciding to test her theory, she said, I already spun it once just now, so

Before she could finish, Vivian interrupted, Celia, are you really unwilling? Is it because you can’t bear to give up the title of Fortune, or is there something else going on?

Vivian’s voice was gentle, yet to Celia, it carried a subtle threat that sent a chill down her spine.

Celia’s mind was spinning. She thought, Vivian must have noticed the magnet. Someone like her would never have dared threaten me unless she knew something for certain.

Celia clenched her jaw until it hurt and shot a desperate glance at Xavier, silently hoping he would come to her rescue.

Vivian leaned in close and whispered, Celia, who do you think will get the magnet shards first, Xavier or me?

Cold sweat broke out over Celia. Vivian was clearly itching to expose her lies in front of everyone, but crossing the King was dangerous. One wrong move could put all of the Snyder family in jeopardy.

Vivian would never risk her neck for someone so greedy and cunning, but making Celia pay the price was something she could handle without hesitation.

Celia nodded stiffly and muttered, I’ll do it.She stepped up to the cloth and spun the Wheel of Fate again. The King and Queen Mother, though they found it odd, didn’t intervene.

Everyone watched as Celia spun the wheel three more times. This time, the total was not ninety, but ninetyone. Seeing the number, Celia froze, paralyzed with shock. Her body went limp, and she slowly slid off the cushion.

Sylvia, standing nearby, looked devastated, as if she had lost everything. The ninetyfirst phase was nothing like the ninetieth. It meant all wishes would be denied.

The Queen Mother frowned deeply and opened her mouth to speak, but thought better of it. The King’s face went from pale to furious, and with a dramatic sweep of his sleeve, he strode out of the room.

These two were the most powerful figures in Veronia. Their words carried weight as if set in stone. They could not have praised Celia a moment ago and suddenly changed their tune. Doing so would have been a direct insult to the royal family’s authority.

You two shouldhead back,” the Queen Mother said, massaging her aching forehead as she waved them off.

Celia wanted to reveal that Vivian was behind it all, but she did not dare. The magnet shards were still hidden on her, and if anyone discovered them, it would be far more than bad luck. It would be a grave offense against the crown.

Celia and Vivian made their way back to Beatrice, with Sylvia following at a careful distance. The Festival of Fortune fiasco ended before anyone realized it, but talk of the Snyder family spread like wildfire.

Once they returned to Aurea Manor, Sylvia dropped all pretense and stared at Vivian as if she wanted to tear her apart.

Celia had already spun the Wheel of Fate and landed a lucky number. She was supposed to be the one blessed with Fortune in the eyes of the King and the Queen Mother.

But Vivian couldn’t leave things alone and kept pestering Celia to spin again, trying to ruin everything.

Vivian, you’ve crossed the line this time,Sylvia snapped. Celia is your sister. Even if you have different mothers, you both share the Snyder bloodline. Why did you have to make her look bad in front of everyone?

As Sylvia spoke, her tears flowed uncontrollably, her hand pressed to her mouth as she sobbed. At that moment, she looked more like Celia’s real mother than Flora ever had.

Vivian let out a cold laugh and snapped, Mom, let me ask you. What matters more, the lives of everyone in the Snyder family or some meaningless reputation that you can’t see or touch?

Sylvia gritted her teeth, unable to lie in front of Beatrice and Quentin. She answered, Of course, people’s lives matter most.

So if lives are what count, what’s wrong with me making Celia spin the Wheel of Fate again? At least this way, she won’t get everyone in trouble for deceiving the King,Vivian shot back.

Stop spouting nonsense,Sylvia retorted. Celia spun the Wheel of Fate herself the first time. Just because she got a lucky number, you’re calling her a liar to His Majesty? How did I end up with a daughter as cruel as you?

Sylvia beat her chest in frustration, wishing she could disown Vivian on the spot.

Oh, is that so?Vivian snapped back as she stepped up to Celia, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her forward in front of everyone. Celia, why don’t you tell Mom how you managed to get that ninetieth result on the Wheel of Fate?

Celia staggered, almost losing her balance. When she heard Vivian’s words, she wished she could crawl into a hole and disappear. She shook her head frantically, too terrified to speak..

Since Celia won’t say it herself, I’ll spill the truth for everyone,” Vivian said.

Beatrice clutched her wooden cane and let out a heavy sigh. Things were far messier than she had imagined. She didn’t expect them to become daring enough to carry out such wild schemes.

Vivian continued, This morning, when our whole family rode out to the Sanctuary of Peace, Celia was wearing a twisted silver bracelet. But that bracelet wasn’t just silver. It hid a magnet inside, perfectly shaped to manipulate the numbers on the Wheel of Fate.”

No way!Sylvia shrieked, her voice cracking with disbelief. It’s just a twisted silver bracelet. How could something like that affect the Wheel of Fate?

If the bracelet didn’t interfere, why did the numbers on the Wheel suddenly change after it broke?Vivian shot back.

Vivian let out a mocking laugh and added, Mom, how do you explain Celia going from getting everything she wanted to ending up with nothing at all?

After Vivian finished, even Beatrice, Quentin, and Flora realized the Wheel of Fate had been tampered with. Flora just kept sighing, feeling helpless.

What was supposed to be a joyful family day at the Festival of Fortune had turned into chaos. First, her son caused trouble for Vivian, then her daughter lied to His Majesty for a meaningless reputation.
