Their gaze broke when Noah cleared his throat as loudly as he could.
“I will have the classic New York bagel with cream cheese and lox,” Noah ordered, sizing the waiter up.
“Alright,” The waiter took note of their orders on his tab. “What drinks would you like with that?”
“Brooklyn–brewed latte,” Isla went first, her voice low and steady.
“I see you’re have made your research,” the waiter teased, scribbling on his tab, a smile tugged at his lips.
Isla shrugged her shoulders playfully with a small smile playing on her face. “I have always wanted to come to Brooklyn.”
“Is it how you imagined it to be?” the waiter asked, his hands has stopped moving on the tab and his full
focus was on Isla’s face.
“Yeah. Much better,” Isla smile widened, her eyes wandered around the hotel for a few second.
“I will be honored to show you the city in its full glory,” the waiter offered a sly smile curled at his lips. He took his white handkerchief, scribbled down a few notes, and handed it over to Isla who took it reluctantly.
Meanwhile, Noah found his thoughts wandering back to the early hours of the morning when he was jerking off. He had unintentionally moaned her name. He kept cautioning himself ever since, reminding himself that he was way older than her and they were nothing more than “a boss and his secretary.”
“And what would your father like to take?” the waiter’s voice rang in Noah’s ears. He shifted his gaze from the wall behind Isla to the young man who just finished flirting with his secretary while taking their orders. His eyes moved to the waiter’s name tag that read “Jeremiah.”
“He is my boss,” Isla defended immediately.
Jeremiah swallowed hard on his saliva, his eyes turning to face Noah. “Apologies sir, what drink would you like to drink?”
“A refill of my black coffee, no sugar, no cream,” Noah replied, staring at the young who seemed to have noticed the change of energy. “Jeremiah, right?”
The waiter glanced down at his name tag and then back at Noah’s face. “Yes sir,” he replied, hesitantly.
As Noah opened his mouth to say something, Isla’s loud ringing tone interrupted, making her thank God silently. She had wanted the confrontation to stop but she didn’t want to interrupt her boss. Why would the waiter even woo her on duty?
She looked at the lit screen of her vibrating phone that she had just removed from her purse, and the automated voice announced the caller.
“You have a call from My Love, heart emoji, heart emoji, heart emo…” Isla declined the call, to stop the
announcement.
Why would Jackie be calling her at work hours?
Her phone began to ring again, she looked at Noah and the waiter, chewing her lips helplessly.

“Go answer your call, I’m sure it is important,” Noah said, granting her permission to leave. A small sigh escaped her lips and she grabbed her phone tightly.
Jeremiah saw and took this opportunity to leave their table, he doesn’t want to get involved with a man that can make him lose his job. It was clear as day that the boss and his secretary have a chemistry.
What if they are lovers? He thought as he walked away.
As Isla turned her back against Noah to leave the restaurant, his eyes traveled down to her waist, the way they moved effortlessly, followed by her swaying hips.
“She has the perfect ass,” He thought. “Is it because she is young?”
“Exactly. She is young. Young enough to be your daughter.” the little voices in his head, reminded him.
Jackson stood in front of them in their bedroom, his eyes fixed on the lone street of their Estate. He held the phone to his ears, listening to Isla speak. He had called her for money.
His secret girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and he has no money to buy any gifts and beside he was broke and jobless.
“I don’t have any money on me, Jackson. What about the allowance I sent to your account before traveling to Brooklyn?” Isla’s voice rang sharply from the phone.
“Can you stop scolding me and listen?” Jackson demanded. Isla went silent, waiting for what he had to say. “The money was used to settle Andrew, you know Andrew right? The contractor. He pestered me, even using the job he had for me as an excuse to exploit money. I had no choice, Isla. You know everything I’m doing is for us, to get a better job and build a financially stable home. What if you lose your job? I want to be able to support my family, alright baby…” As he spoke, Isla found herself blushing at his words but her mood immediately switched up when she heard his last sentence. “Send the money.
