Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 133

In December, winter settled in Jedo. The maple leaves fell on the road, covering it in a blanket of red and gold. Only the withered branches remain, swaying in the cold wind, with a few leaves clinging on, ready to fall.

A gust of wind blew. The chill seeped right through Samantha's clothes, cutting straight to her skin.

She had shown up early and waited at the entrance of her apartment building. Leonardo's car arrived at the door right on time.

Gary was the one behind the wheel today. Samantha got in and sat next to Leonardo. It was completely silent in the car.

Leonardo suddenly asked, "Did you bring your ID?"

"Yes," Samantha replied.

The short exchange lasted only a few seconds.

Who would go to get their marriage registered without bringing their ID?

Samantha tightened her grip on the strap of her small purse. An indescribable feeling welled up within her.

She felt a little nervous, but she managed to appear calm. She did feel some excitement, which she tried her best to suppress. She also felt a little lost, yet she pretended everything was fine.

Leonardo glanced at the white purse in her hands and noticed it was a design from Evergreen Corporation. "You like Evergreen Corporation's bags too?"

Samantha looked down at the purse. It was the one Layla had bought with Leonardo's money back when the latter had been mistaken for her identity. Even after kicking Layla out, Leonardo hadn't asked for any of the things back.

Layla had said it was his fault for mistaking her, so any money spent during that time was on him. Then she had gone on to complain that she should have spent even more and enjoyed herself while she had the chance.

Samantha feared Leonardo might remember and investigate it if she brought it up now. So she couldn't be bothered to explain and merely nodded nonchalantly. "Yeah."

"It suits you," Leonardo said.

Samantha merely stared at him. She figured Leonardo was worried that she would pretend to lose the certificate to avoid getting divorced in a year. But she wouldn't do that.

Yesterday, she had seen that high society wasn't something anyone could just join. She didn't hope to fit in at all; in fact, she even found it torturous. Her only thought now was to suffer through it as quickly as possible.

Leonardo had already stepped down the courthouse stairs. Gary pulled the car up to the curb, and Leonardo looked at Samantha as he opened the door. "I'll come with you to pack your things."

"It's fine. I can pack by myself," Samantha said.

"It's on the way."

Leonardo didn't give her a choice and pulled her into the car.

Samantha realized he had a habit of using phrases like "it's on the way" or "just passing by". It seemed like it was just convenient for him to go anywhere.
