Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 163

Leonardo stood by the back entrance.

Samantha soon appeared, asking, "Why are you looking for me so urgently—"

Before she could finish, Leonardo pulled her into a crushing embrace, his arms locking around her so tightly she could barely breathe.

"You're not allowed to die."His voice rumbled against her, low and uncharacteristically shaken—as if letting go might make her vanish.

Samantha couldn't help but laugh, gently patting his back like comforting a frightened child. "That was acting. Not real. Did the performance get to you that much?"

Leonardo didn't answer immediately. His grip loosened slightly, but he still refused to release her.

Perhaps it had.

When he watched her collapse onstage, he'd felt something visceral—his heart seized by a terror so acute it might as well have been real. That despair of losing her felt possible.

He looked down at Samantha in his arms. Traces of fake blood still streaked her fair skin. Rough fingertips brushed her cheek, wiping away the remnants.

"You missed a spot."

Samantha glared at him. "Because someone demanded I come out while I was cleaning up!"

Leonardo was speechless. He had indeed insisted on meeting Samantha.

In fact, he didn't know what was happening to him. He'd nearly stormed the stage during her final scene to catch her before she fell.

Perhaps, as Samantha had said, he'd gotten too immersed in the performance.

Samantha looked up at him. "Can I go back and finish removing my makeup now?"

"Let's just go home," Leonardo replied, tightening his grip on her hand, refusing to let her return.

"But I'm still in costume."

"Change at home."

The car pulled out of the parking spot.

Samantha took the wet wipes Leonardo handed her, flipping down the sun visor mirror to clean off the remaining stage blood.

As she wiped at her cheeks, she mused aloud, "Have you seen those viral videos where someone opens the sun visor and a waterfall of cash-filled envelopes comes spilling out?"

"Can't say I have."

She continued scrubbing her face and said, "I've always wondered how do they even stay put like that? It's kind of magical."

Leonardo glanced at the visor with a thoughtful expression.

The wipes worked surprisingly well. Samantha's face was soon clean of all traces of makeup. Gone was the striking, dramatic stage beauty. In its place was a fresh-faced natural loveliness. She looked adorable and radiant when she smiled.

Leonardo's mind drifted to the new season's handbag collection from Evergreen Corporation. Every single design would suit her perfectly.
