Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 208

"Then what is it?" Layla pressed.

There was no way Samantha could admit she'd been kicked out. She tilted her head back, putting on a sweet, almost exaggerated smile.

"Obviously, I just missed you too much. So I packed a suitcase and came looking for you. I figured I'd crash at your place for a few days."

"You can stay at my place, but not looking like this. You better tell me the truth, or you're not setting foot in my apartment," Layla warned, completely unimpressed.

"So what? You're going to make me sleep on the streets?"

Layla was amused, but she didn't give in. "That's your choice."

Samantha pouted, clearly reluctant. Yet, the thought of being homeless was worse. In the end, she told Layla everything that had happened.

Layla was so furious that she was about to confront Laura and Yara immediately.

Samantha quickly grabbed her arm, holding her tightly. "Layla, let it go. He told me not to go against them. I shouldn't have tried to call him in front of them. If I'd just left quietly, maybe none of this would've happened."

This was the conclusion Samantha had come to after thinking it through carefully. She realized she could be too stubborn at times. Maybe if she'd just backed down a little, things wouldn't have escalated the way they had.

Layla was frustrated—so much so that she wanted to poke Samantha right in her stubborn little head. But seeing the bandage on Samantha's forehead, she couldn't bring herself to do it. All she could do was stomp her foot in rage.

"You're driving me insane!"

"Am I wrong, though?"

"Of course! They're walking all over you, and you're still trying to play nice? You should've fought back. This guy's not right for you. The longer you stay with him, the more you'll get bullied. It's time you broke up with him!"

Samantha pursed her lips. Even after being thrown out like that, she hadn't considered a breakup. But now…

She shook her head. "Not yet."

"What a hopeless romantic. You're beyond saving."

After leaving the hospital, Layla took the initiative to speak. "Thanks for today."

"It's nothing."

The situation had been urgent, and Layla was worried about Samantha's condition. Hence, she'd actually called Ethan for help on the way to the hospital.

Despite Ethan's usually aloof and distant attitude, he'd responded right away this time. He'd come to their aid immediately, which was why Samantha had been able to get to the hospital and get her stitches so quickly.

Layla then asked, "Do you know how to cure a hopeless romantic?"

Samantha froze.

Ethan was confused. "Hmm?"

Layla inquired, "Would brain surgery help? Is there a chance it could be cured?"
