Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 221

Ethan made up his mind quickly. "I'll take a villa. Are there specific locations I can choose from?"

"Of course, Dr. Reed. Please come with me to the model display. I'll walk you through it." Layla's tone grew more and more impersonal as she spoke, bordering on overly polite.

Ethan didn't seem to mind. He followed her to the scale model in the center of the lobby.

Layla pointed a laser pen at several villas on the model.

"There are the available options. I would recommend these two on the edge—they're near the base of the mountain. It's more secluded and quieter there. The view is great as well," Layla explained.

"Each villa usually comes with a garage on the right side of the building. It's not far to drive to the main entrance."

Samantha glanced back to see Layla looking a little pale. The latter was clearly pushing through.

Ethan casually asked, "Is the garage only for one car?"

"Yes, Dr. Reed," Layla replied.

"Is there an underground parking lot?"

"Yes. The villas also have elevators that go down to the basement level. Compared to the apartments, parking in this area or the basement parking isn't as tight." Layla pointed to a few more units with her laser pen. "These have spaces below them. A spot costs around 100 thousand to 200 thousand dollars."

Samantha was absolutely shocked. All that for a parking space?

That amount was her entire life savings!

Ethan didn't even flinch. He pointed to a unit and said, "I'll take that one, along with a parking spot right below. We can sign the deal now."

That caught Layla off guard.

Even though their clients were wealthy, this was still a multi-million-dollar villa. Most buyers tried to haggle or ask for perks, and Layla usually had to go put on a show, pretending to negotiate.

She thought Ethan was being a little too hasty when he said he would sign the deal without even discussing the price.

"You're not… going to negotiate?" Layla asked incredulously.

"It's fine. I'll take it at the price you quoted," Ethan replied.

"You just had a fight with Layla not too long ago. Now that you've found someone new and are about to get married, you're showing it off in front of her. If that's not petty, what is?" Samantha snapped.

"What are you talking about?" Ethan asked, bewildered.

"I'm spitting facts!" Samantha shot him a dirty look.

Ethan went quiet again. Women's thoughts were truly beyond him sometimes. After a moment, he said, "Did you perhaps misunderstand something?"

Samantha was indignant. "What could I be misunderstanding? You're rushing to buy a matrimonial home and said it's a private matter you don't want her poking into. You even showed off—"

She was mid-rant when Layla returned with the paperwork. Samantha immediately clamped her mouth shut.

"What are you two talking about?" Layla asked.

Samantha looked up and beamed at Layla. "Layla, I was just grabbing a bite and wandering around. I didn't expect to run into Dr. Reed, so we just chatted a little."

Layla said nothing more and handed the documents to Ethan. "I got you the best discount I could get. My team leader said that with all the discounts, we can reduce the price by 15 thousand dollars. Will that work for you?"
