The servant was quick to step forward, gently taking Elnora’s arm with a smile. “Let’s go. Mrs. Campbell just sent a message. She’s waiting for you in the car.”

Elnora nodded in response. She walked out beside the servant, and just as she was about to leave, she turned back to look at Albert, her lips curving into a gentle smile as she spoke.

“Mr. Campbell, Elara found some missing data yesterday. She’ll be handling it today. I told her to reach out to you if she needs anything. I’ll leave the company stuff in your hands.”

Albert arched his brow and replied. “I’m not going to the office today.”

Elnora didn’t press the issue. She just nodded and said softly, “Alright. I’ll handle it tomorrow when I get back to the office.”

Albert just nodded and replied, “Yeah.”

Elnora turned her gaze away and headed out the door. Right on cue, a car was parked outside their villa. The servant hurried over and opened the car door.

Reese was sitting inside. When she saw Elnora coming, she smiled and reached out her hand to her. “Come, Elnora.”

Elnora took Reese’s hand and got into the car. Reese smiled, her gaze drifting to Albert standing just behind Elnora, then turned to Elnora and said, “This dress really suits you.”

Elnora smiled back. “Mom, you always know what looks good,” Elnora replied.

Albert nodded. “Yeah, just felt like it out of the blue. Besides, you’re taking my wife to an event like this. If I’m not there, who knows what people will say? If I show up, I can clear things up,” Albert said calmly.

Reese let out a soft laugh. “I didn’t know you could be so considerate,” she teased.

Lately, there had been plenty of rumors swirling about Elnora and Albert’s marriage being rocky. After all, Albert’s behavior at the wedding, especially when he toasted with Elnora, had already set off all kinds of speculation.
