He nodded reluctantly.

I slammed my lips against his and kissed his frown away. I turned and gave him my back. He embraced me, his nose buried in my neck. I felt tingles appear on my skin. Vee purred in delight. I smiled as I watched everyone enjoying themselves. Michael was busy with his mate, gossiping as they snickered discreetly. They did that a lot. Zeyneb was with Luis, playing table pool not far from us, while Jace and Lilac talked and hugged. They were happy about their new kid.

At this moment, everything seemed perfect. I pushed the wary feeling I had at the corner of my mind. Was this the calm before the storm?

Ellis sensed my thoughts, and he held me tighter, “We are okay. We will be alright.”

I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. I turned to the other side of the bed to find Ellis was gone. I went to take a shower. I wore a dress and boots, pulled my hair in a bun, and went downstairs.

“Good morning,” CC smiled at me, and I bent down to kiss her. My children avoided me as they were busy with their new presents,

“Presents?” I gave CC the eye. I hated that she spoiled them a lot.

“Well, it’s their birthday in two days. Why not start early,” she beamed, handing Solara a customized doll with her features. My daughter gasped and smiled.

“She looks like me. Thank you, Granny,”

I left the three at their gift opening and went to Ellis’ office. He was busy with his beta. They were looking through some documents.

“Good morning, Luna,” Jace greeted me. I felt blood rush to my cheeks.

I hope I will get used to that title. Jace went to the exit. My gaze met my handsome mate’s. I went over to him. He lifted me easily and sat me down on his desk, so we were at the same eye level. I put my hands on either side of his shoulder. His grey eyes pulled me in.

Ellis pulled me closer to him, and his fingers slid down my dress. The butterflies in my stomach were churning.

“What do you have planned for the day before the party?” he asked, kissing my leg.

“I was thinking of visiting some pack members. Zey, shared with me some concerns in the pack, and I want to help find solutions,” I said.

His face was now mere inches from me. He was distracting me.

“Okay,” his voice was deep.

His grip tightened on my waist. I placed my palm on his chest. If I didn’t leave now, we’d do something that would take hours to finish, and I wanted to go in the pack right now. I tugged his hair so that he was looking at me. He grunted.

I smirked and kissed his lips. He wasn’t ready to pull away. When I did, a growl ripped from his mouth.

“I should go,” I bit my lips, teasing him.
