It was another morning, and we were in an executive meeting. I noted Love’s chair was empty, and I glared at the damn thing. She didn’t want to face me after our talk a few nights ago, but I was wrong when the door opened, and she walked in. A sense of serenity washed over me, but it quickly vanished when I smelled David on her. They were together. I was angry. A second later, David stood next to her. They both seemed out of breath and a little messy. I clenched my jaw and slammed my palm on the desk.

“What do you think this is?” I growled, taking everyone, even myself, by surprise. Lias just took over. I fought him back for control and calmed my breath. I was enraged at the sight before me. I grit my teeth to stop me from cussing.

“We are sorry, everyone, we got locked in the studio,” It was David who spoke. His voice was husky, and I doubted they were ‘ locked in,‘ I couldn’t help the twinge in my chest at the thought of what they were doing before they came. Despite the discussion we had and the coldness from Love, I still wanted her. I found her alluring. 1

‘You’re losing control again,‘ Jace’s voice rang in my head. I have done that a lot lately – losing control.

‘They weren’t locked in! They were doing something sexual!‘ I roared through the link to him.

‘It’s none of your business, boss,‘ he put pressure on the word boss. I knew he meant it was their business, and I shouldn’t get involved.‘ If they say they were locked in, that’s what happened then,‘

I watched with anger as David pulled out a chair for Love to sit on, and he sat next to her. They smiled at each other, and a dark aura swerved around me. I’d kill David and enjoy each second.

“Let us begin,” Michael said, and I nodded.

I noticed all the department managers were apprehensive. They were stiff as the chilling aura surrounded the place. However, I didn’t do anything about it.

The company’s performance was excellent. I didn’t utter a word, only listened to the report. My eyes went to Love more times than I could count, and she ignored meeting my eyes.

The meeting ended two hours later, and I was the first to leave. Jace and Michael hurried after me.

“You should be pleased with this quarter’s performance. It’s better than the last,” Michael said. If only he knew what I was going through. It was Love fraternizing with David around the office building. It was so unprofessional.

“Michael, isn’t there a policy against romantic relationships at work?” I asked, and he raised his brow in thought.

“They are. The romance between colleagues leaves room for problems,” he answered. I knew I was being a petty CEO right now, but I couldn’t stand that she was happy without me. 2

“Why does your department allow it, though,” I asked, pouring myself a glass of whiskey.

“That’s inconsequential, come on,” Jace laughed.

“I don’t understand,” Michael looked dumbfounded,

“Miss Chasia and Mr. Kofflin is having a romantic relationship. Shouldn’t it be stopped before it starts to bring disruption in a place of work,” I stated. David had a high position, and he should lead by example.

Michael gaped at me, “Wait, you want me to stop their relationship?” He looked for Jace for help, but my beta wasn’t getting involved any longer.

“Isn’t it one of your duties as HR employee relations? The VP and a department manager are important to the group, and they should lead by example,”
