Chapter 366
Canary POV
Sin and I missed the last full moon trying to figure out whether or not to turn. We still were at odds on what to do. We both liked the idea of belonging somewhere that takes care of their
OWN.
Even being married isn’t all it’s cracked up to me. I am personally looking forward to turning and becoming part of this pack. Even though I’m married, I might as well just have stayed single.
“Canary, what are you wandering around about?” Sin came up to me.
“Just thinking how great everything is going to be once we turn.” I said.
“What about your husband?” She asked. “Have you figured out how to tell him? Are you even going to tell him?”
I thought about it a lot, but truth be told, it won’t matter. “I assure you, he won’t mind.” I said and even I could taste the bitterness in my words.
Sin looked at me curiously, “Are you really married? I’ve never once seen a picture of you both together.”
I sighed. “Yeah, unfortunately, I’m married, Sin.” I said and then decided to shift gears. Talking about my husband was not something I wanted to do. “What about you? Have you thought about talking to your siblings yet? I mean I know they are your foster siblings, but you were close to them, right?”
This time, Sin sighed. “I thought about it. I will let them know that I’m moving far away to start a new life. That way they don’t suspect anything. Besides, they only call me when they need something. They don’t really feel like family anyway.”
I know Sin cares about her foster siblings, but it seems like it’s a wasted effort on her part. We both have really grown up with no one. No one even really cares if we are alive or dead. I think that’s why we are so close. We both had a sad upbringing and lonely life. Being here, we have a lot of people being friendly and making friends with us. It’s nice to feel like we belong somewhere that actually wants us. Sin I think has had it worse than me.
“What about your dad? Are you going to tell him?” Sin asked.
I let out a sarcastic laugh, “Why? He doesn’t care about me unless I’m useful to him.” I said. “ He even called me pathetic for not having kids yet to solidify and secure my position.”
I got married at eighteen. I’m still young and can have kids, but my youth is being wasted. It sucks, but it is what it is and I can’t change it.
We both see Isaiah in the distance and decide to mess with him. He is the son of an alpha and the beta of the pack and it’s always fun to frustrate him.
“Isaiah!” We both yelled, “Three days! Are you ready for us? We giggled.
“Goddess help me.” He muttered “Kaia, Sinclair, you both need to make sure you are ready too. Have you gone back to Dr. Moreno for final testing?”
He is such a drag, just sucking the fun out of everything. I roll my eyes, “Yes, stick in the mud. We went and we are waiting for final results. Results should be ready by tomorrow.”
“Stick in the mud?” Isaiah said with his lips twitching
Sin then speaks up, “For such a handsome face, you really act like an old man. No fun at all.”
“Old man?” Isaiah said, clearly getting offended Good. “All three of us are the same age.” Be
counters.
“Yeah, and you will be using a walking cane before Sin and I even get arthritis.” I said laughing. “You really have no sense of fun. Isn’t there anything you do that is actual fund
Isaiah smirked, “Yeah, it’s called walking away and ignoring the both of you.”
“Lame!” Sin said sarcastically. “You are probably the kind of guy that reads the dictionary for fun.”
From behind us, we hear someone laughing. When we turn around, it’s Adrian. I take the moment to appreciate both men. They are identical twins. Too bad Adrian is mated. I bet he’s the fun one.
“Adrian, did you suck up all the fun genes in the womb? Why is your brother such a bore?” I asked.
