Chapter 365
Armando POV
I have tried calling Diego, but his phone is off. He said he would call when he was on the way, But it is now the next day and it’s becoming evening again. He said that he would be back on the road by yesterday evening at the latest and then he would call me. That hasn’t happened.
I am gathering men and plotting my plan to infiltrate and get to Thalia. I need to marry her. I have to gain access to her father’s ports. Afterwards, it will be just Thalia and me. I know she didn’t want me, but I want her under me at night. She is fucking gorgeous, even when she is mad.
I’ve never understood her relationship with her father though. They are worse than oil and vinegar. They really don’t get along. I don’t care either way. She’s mine. He was supposed to bring her back and then we would get everything back on track. I can’t become the new don of the Reyes family without Thalia, so I need her back here.
My phone rang and when I answered, it is Julian Ortega, heir of the Ortega family. “Julian, what can I do for you?”
“Hey Armando, have you heard from Don Diego?” He asked.
“No, why do you ask?”
“He said he wanted a marriage alliance with our family and wanted me to meet his daughter Mia.” He replied.
“Yeah, and I’m supposed to marry his other daughter, Thalia.” I said.
“Yeah, that man is marrying off his daughters like they’re commodities. It’s a good thing they are pretty, at least. Anyway, he said if I didn’t hear from him by today, to give you a call for his location.” He said.
“Yeah, well, he was supposed to be back yesterday evening. He didn’t return. I’m actually gathering men to go in search of him and both daughters.”
“You want some extra help? I mean our families don’t have issues or bad blood and this is strictly to get our future brides and father-in-law back home.” Julian said.
“Sure. I’m planning to head out tomorrow morning. If you want, why don’t you come over, and we can discuss the plans with the map I have of the area?” I offered.
“Sure. I will be there in the next thirty minutes.” He said.
We hung up and I continued looking at the map. The more help we have, the better. It’s going to be a long weekend.

Aiden POV
This little prick was getting on my nerves until Mia started speaking to him. Then it was like the dim bulb in his head, lit the hell up. I was about to check his fucking bulb, if I’m being honest. The boy is dumber than a stack of bricks, under ice, in a blizzard. No critical thinking skills whatsoever.
I’m sitting there, listening to Thalia and in some cases Mia, recount their past to Rodrigo. The more they speak, the more I see Rodrigo finally putting the pieces together. Maybe there is hope for him after all. But there won’t be a place here for him. I just see him being trouble later on for Thalia and she doesn’t need that.
After they were finished recounting their past, that he was clearly oblivious to, he looked down and his hands were shaking.
“So, all this time, our father kept treating you like cattle to sell off for his own gain.” He said and there is an undercurrent statement not being said, but I think I understand.
“Rodrigo,” I spoke up, “You are supposed to inherit the family business, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Everything Diego was doing wasn’t to leave it in your hands, was it?” I asked.
He shook his head slowly. “He used to say it to me. That he was doing everything he was doing to leave me well off. But, listening to all the broken promises, it just reminds me of how many promises he broke to me as well.”
“What promises did he make you?”
“First, when I turned eighteen and shifted, he promised me that I would be taking over the family business within a year. But then after he lied about what Thalia said and I lost my wolf, he said I needed to regain my strength and after I had, I would then be the head of the family. But no matter how much I recovered or trained, he still said I wasn’t strong enough. Then he wanted me to track down a number and promised me that if I could do this one job, I would get to lead the family. I told him to give me less than twenty-four hours, and before I could even begin, he called me and told me he found it and better luck next time.”
“That must have been tough.” I said.
“Yeah, well, I confronted him, and he threw me against the wall and basically said I was worthless before saying that Mia would be a better fit to take over the family business.”
In a way I feel sorry for this kid. He isn’t bright, but that doesn’t mean he should be trampled on. “It seems like Diego never intended to give you the reigns of the family.”
