His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 120

After a grueling twelve-hour wait, it was finally the Sargent Group's turn. Harvey gave Annika an encouraging look. "You've got this."

Annika took the files, suppressed the nervous flutter in her heart, and walked into the main bidding hall with composure.

Her eyes immediately found Conrad, seated at the head of the table. Dressed in a charcoal-gray suit with a blue tie, he exuded an air of danger and authority just by sitting there with his head down.

"Please, have a seat," said one of the panelists next to Conrad, his tone serious.

"Thank you." Annika walked forward, took a quiet breath, and began to speak eloquently.

The projector cast her elegant profile onto the screen. With her hair swept up in a neat bun and wearing a blue professional suit, she appeared graceful yet capable, her beauty captivating. However, the men in the room were all seasoned professionals. It would take more than a pretty face to impress them.

Annika was in top form, presenting her case fluently. During her speech, her gaze occasionally met Conrad's sharp, cold eyes from behind his glasses. She seamlessly looked away each time, maintaining a calm demeanor as if she and Conrad were complete strangers.

After finishing her presentation, Annika left the hall.

Conrad looked up, his long, narrow eyes tightening into a dangerous, dark squint as he watched her tall figure retreat.

"How did it go?" Harvey asked, quickly handing her a bottle of water as she came out.

Annika twisted the cap and drank, but no one could have known how nervous she had been. Her fingertips were damp with cold sweat. Conrad's presence was so chilling that she had wanted to end her speech and flee the room. She had only managed to hold on for the sake of the Sargent Group's future.

"Probably… probably no hope."

If Conrad deliberately made things difficult, Annika felt they had no chance of winning. No matter how brilliant her presentation was, the Sargent Group's infrastructure didn't meet the standards. The Beryl Group wasn't foolish enough to throw money at a company like theirs.
