His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 193

His Adam's apple bobbed, his blood running hot. His deep eyes, usually so composed, now held a mixture of shock, delight, and a flicker of concern. He couldn't understand what had gotten into her, why she was acting this way.

He quickly touched her forehead, checking for a fever.

Normal.

As he started to pull his hand away, she grabbed it, her laugh light and airy. The dazzling smile gave her a brilliant, captivating glow. “I don’t have a fever. I’m perfectly fine.”

She tilted her head. “Am I not beautiful enough?”

Conrad raised an eyebrow. “Why would you ask that?”

To him, no one could compare to her.

“You… you won’t even touch me.”

The fact that he could resist her, even now, planted a seed of bitter defeat in Annika's heart.

Her words were the spark that ignited a wildfire. Conrad’s breath came in ragged gasps, his Adam’s apple moving again. His lips found her ear, then traveled with agonizing slowness to her mouth.

“Annika,” he murmured, his voice low as he kissed her. He was the only one who could say her name with such captivating tenderness. As his breath turned hot and ragged against her, she felt how hard he was against her thigh and instinctively recoiled.

“Feel that? That’s how much I want you.” he asked, his voice impossibly hoarse as he pulled back to look at her. Then he began kissing her again, this time with a fierce, desperate hunger.

But just as he was about to lose himself completely, she pressed her hands against his chest, arching away from his kiss.

“Tell me,” she whispered, “is my body better, or is Serena's?”

The blood in Conrad’s veins was already boiling. He didn't understand why she would ask such a thing. He only knew her body, not Serena’s, so there was no way to compare.

“Yours,” he answered, before pulling her back into a crushing embrace.
