His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 47

Harvey had been dreaming of a high-end product like this for ages, but he’d never been able to secure the patent rights. Now that Beryl Group had acquired Sargent Group, they had a powerful parent company backing them. They could finally throw their weight around in the industry.

Annika glanced at the robot, but she felt no joy. “It’s all just making money for Beryl Group,” she said flatly.

From now on, every employee at Sargent Group, including Annika herself, was just working for Conrad.

Harvey knew Annika was upset about the hostile takeover, but business was business. If not for Beryl Group, the nearly one thousand employees at Sargent Group would be out of a job.

“Mr. Beryl just called,” he added. “We’ve landed a huge order. The contract requires us to manufacture a full batch of these robots within a week.”

“Fine,” Annika replied quietly.

Noticing her low spirits, Harvey said, “I’ll head down to the factory to supervise.”

Annika knew the client had high standards and Harvey wouldn’t trust the production line to anyone else. But she stopped him. “No, I’ll go. You can handle things here.”

Without waiting for his agreement, she left the Sargent Group building.

To meet Beryl Group's one-week deadline, Annika pushed the factory to work around the clock.

That night at Scent Haven, the villa was brightly lit, even in the dead of night. The dinner on the dining table had been reheated several times. Conrad sat at the head of the table, glancing at his watch periodically. As the clock on the wall struck midnight, the calm expression on his face began to crack. He summoned Hank. “Go see what she’s doing.”

Hank pulled up the security footage from Sargent Group and found Annika on one of the factory’s assembly lines. He immediately sent a screenshot to Conrad.

Conrad stared at the image of her focused silhouette, a cold curve forming on his lips. His eyes turned dark and menacing.
