Chapter 633
Lydia let out a soft groan. Her entire body ached-but strangely, it felt… refreshing. As she slowly opened her eyes, she realized her wrists were being gently massaged.
“You’re awake?”
A faint smile curved her lips. Beside her, Cale sat with a focused expression, his hands moving carefully, working soothing circles over her skin. “When did you wake up?”
“Maybe… an hour ago?” Cale replied lightly. “I already applied some ointment for the bruises. Sorry I was a bit rough last night.”
Lydia let out a small laugh. “But I enjoyed being with you.”
Cale raised a brow, a playful glint in his eyes. “Want to go another round? I still have plenty of interesting ideas.”
Lydia frowned immediately. “No. I need my body to recover. Keeping up with you is exhausting.”
Cale extended his hand toward her. Lydia hesitated for a second, studying him, before finally placing her hand in his. She thought he would simply help her up-But, of course, he didn’t.
In one swift motion, Cale lifted her into his arms. Lydia gasped in surprise, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.
“I’ve already asked the staff to prepare breakfast,” he said casually, as if what he was about to add was nothing important. “And I think… we only have about three hours to get ready.”
“Three hours?” Lydia frowned deeply. “For what?”
Cale looked at her, amused. “Did you forget about our honeymoon?”
Lydia froze for a second.
Then-
“Oh my God!” She squirmed in his arms, suddenly trying to get down. “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?!”
Cale smirked. “How could I bring myself to wake my wife when she was clearly exhausted from taking care of me?”
“Put me down already!” Lydia protested, struggling lightly,
“Not happening.” Cale kept walking, completely unfazed. “And stop moving like that-you might fall.” “Which is exactly why you should put me down!”
Lydia didn’t even get the chance to stand on her own feet before Cale carried her all the way to the small dining table in the corner of the room. The warm scent of breakfast greeted them instantly-toast, eggs, fresh fruit, and a cup of coffee still releasing thin curls of steam.
But unlike the calm, leisurely atmosphere Cale seemed to be aiming for, Lydia looked… panicked.
Daven did this.”
“Gave us a honeymoon?” Cale asked lightly.
“No.” Lydia shook her head quickly. “Booking us on the earliest flight out of SunCity to Berlin. Didn’t he think at all?”
“Maybe he thought too far ahead,” Cale said, taking a relaxed sip of his coffee.
Lydia set her spoon down a little harder than necessary. “He should’ve known we would-” she stopped again, letting out a long breath. “Oh my God, this is embarrassing.”
Cale let out a quiet laugh, thoroughly enjoying every bit of her reaction. “I think he did know.”
“That’s even worse!” Lydia stared at him in disbelief. “So he did all this on purpose? Seriously?!”
“And I’m grateful to him for it,” Cale answered without hesitation.
Lydia shook her head, but this time, the corner of her lips lifted slightly. She was annoyed… but not entirely.
Breakfast ended sooner than usual-mostly because Lydia was in a rush, while Cale remained as unbothered as ever. Still, in the end, they arrived at the airport right on time.
