Chapter 747
“You’re sure?” Cale asked with a faint smirk.
“Of course.” Lydia smiled meaningfully as she gently caressed Cale’s jaw. “My offer only comes once, so you’d better take adv
“We’re doing it now.”
Cale immediately pulled Lydia’s hand and draped it around his neck before capturing her lips in a deep, uninterrupted kiss.
Lydia’s muffled protest was completely ignored, mostly because she hadn’t been prepared for a kiss like this.
“You’re impossible!” Lydia complained with an irritated click of her tongue once he finally pulled away. Her lips were swollen into a pout while her breathing came out uneven. “Are you trying to make me die from lack of oxygen?”
Cale chuckled softly. “I’m accepting your offer.”
He slipped his fingers between hers.
Lydia smiled warmly and walked with him toward the soaking pool.
Steam rose slowly from the black stone bath, blending with the calming scent of sandalwood aromatherapy and creating an atmosphere that felt completely isolated from the dangerous world waiting outside.
“Should I prepare myself first?” Lydia asked softly as she stood in front of him now.
Cale remained still for a moment, allowing Lydia’s fingertips to wander slowly across his chest. He could feel his own heartbeat beginning to quicken, matching the gentle yet fearless touch of his wife.
To Cale, Lydia was far more than simply his wife.
She was his anchor in the middle of the storm swallowing Hong Kong around them.
The two of them stood on the edge between overwhelming exhaustion and the deep need to simply hold onto one another.
Cale placed both hands around Lydia’s waist and slowly pulled her closer until there was no distance left between them.
“There’s no need,” Cale murmured before stealing a light kiss at the corner of her lips. “You always know when I’ve reached my limit, Lydia.”
His voice dropped lower as he spoke.
Cale searched Lydia’s eyes for calmness.
And found it there.
Without rushing, he helped Lydia out of their clothes one piece at a time. Every layer of fabric that fell soundlessly onto the wooden floor felt like another burden finally being released.
Beneath the soft glow of the crystal chandelier overhead, they stepped into the warm water together, instant comfort wrapping around their skin.
Lydia let out a quiet sigh as the heat slowly loosened the tension in her muscles. She rested her head against Cale’s sturdy shoulder, enjoying the warmth of his skin beneath her cheek.
Cale didn’t immediately take things further.
Instead, he began massaging Lydia’s shoulders with slow circular motions, gentle yet firm, carefully easing the knots of tension he already knew were there.
“Doesn’t this feel much better than thinking about Falcon or those old factions?” Cale murmured softly.

His lips brushed against the back of Lydia’s neck, leaving light kisses that sent delicate shivers down her spine. Lydia turned within Cale’s embrace, allowing the warm water to surround them as she wrapped her arms loosely around her husband’s neck.
“You talk too much, Master Kai,” Lydia teased softly, her fingers now playing with Cale’s damp hair as she pulled his face closer.
They stared at each other in a silence that carried far more meaning than words.
Here, inside this elegant bathing room, they were no longer the protectors of the Chen family heir or two people trapped inside dangerous schemes. They were simply a man and a woman deeply in love.
Cale lifted Lydia onto the edge of the black stone bath, the cool surface creating a sharp contrast against the warmth surrounding them, only intensifying the adrenaline and desire flowing between them.
“Say my name, love,” Cale murmured.
His voice was heavy with sincere authority, not to dominate her, but because in moments this intimate, he wanted to know that he alone filled Lydia’s thoughts.
Lydia bit her lower lip, her cheeks flushed not only from the steam rising from the water but also from the overwhelming heat blooming inside her chest. She looked into Cale’s eyes, now burning like fire, silently demanding honesty from her.
“Cale…” Lydia breathed softly, trying to hide her face against the curve of his neck as sudden embarrassment overtook her.
