But not everyone knew that beneath the restaurant lay one of the Chen family’s most important halls. A place that had been used for decades as the meeting ground for those bound by loyalty to the Chen family.
Their car entered through the restaurant’s private rear entrance under heavy security.
The moment Naomi stepped out of the vehicle, she could immediately feel the atmosphere change.
The air felt colder somehow. Heavier. Oppressive enough to make the tension in her chest tighten further.
Dozens of men dressed in black stood at various corners of the underground corridor, sharp-eyed and alert, communication devices attached to their ears. No unnecessary conversations could be heard. Everyone moved quickly and with disciplined precision.
“Good evening, Master Kai,” they greeted in unison, bowing respectfully.
Cale merely spared them a brief glance before continuing forward. Liu walked beside him, while Lydia and Naomi followed behind. Their footsteps echoed softly through the long corridor lined with polished black marble.
Without realizing it, Naomi clasped her own fingers tighter.
Walking beside her, Lydia gently touched the back of Naomi’s hand.
“Breathe,” Lydia whispered softly. “And try to stay calm.”
Only then did Naomi realize she had been holding her breath the entire time. She gave a small nod.
Ahead of them, Cale walked first with steady steps, his face once again unreadable beneath that cold expression of his. Dressed in black, he looked far more intimidating tonight.
This was not the usual Cale who acted irritatingly blunt, speaking in short, stiff remarks.
This was Chen Kailun.
The man feared throughout all of Hong Kong.
At last, the massive hall doors slowly opened.
And in an instant… the entire room fell completely silent.
Naomi’s steps nearly stopped.
The hall was far larger than she had imagined. Towering black pillars stood firmly along the length of the room, while golden dragon carvings stretched across the main walls. Above them, a massive crystal chandelier reflected dim light throughout the hall, making the atmosphere feel even heavier somehow.
And there, dozens of men dressed in formal black attire were already waiting.
The moment they saw Cale enter, they immediately bowed their heads in unison.
“Our respects, Master Kai.”
Their voices echoed low and deep across the entire hall.
Naomi’s heartbeat instantly quickened. Her gaze slowly moved across the faces surrounding them. Most were older men with sharp eyes carved by years of experience. Others were much younger, yet the dangerous aura around them remained impossible to ignore.

“Yes,” Cale answered simply before continuing down the center of the hall toward the seat prepared for him.
Truthfully, this was also Lydia’s first time seeing the kind of world Cale Miller ruled in Hong Kong. She had never known her husband possessed a side like this. Even after hearing detailed stories about everything that had happened to him in the past and how he had ended up becoming this man, it still felt astonishing to witness it directly.
Especially tonight.
The moment they entered the hall, every gaze turned toward them. No… toward Naomi. But even so, countless eyes still lingered on Lydia as well, because this was the first time she had been formally introduced as Cale Miller’s wife.
Even then, Lydia handled it all with far more composure.
Unlike Naomi. The girl genuinely felt like turning around and fleeing the room altogether. But in the middle of her growing panic, Cale’s steps suddenly slowed.
He glanced slightly over his shoulder. Their eyes met for only a brief second. Yet it was enough to make Naomi realize one thing. She was not alone in this place. Besides, Lydia was still walking calmly at her side, never rushing ahead.
Cale continued walking toward the center of the hall. Once he reached the place prepared for him, after making sure Lydia was seated comfortably and Naomi was no longer too overwhelmed by her nerves, he decided the time
had come.
