HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 752

Chapter 752

The room fell even quieter.

Naomi could hear the sound of her own breathing.

Especially when Cale extended his hand toward her, silently asking her to stand beside him. Right there in the center of the hall, where everyone present could see her clearly.

“Naomi Chen.”

Several people immediately lowered their heads more deeply in respect.

But not all of them.

An elderly man seated on the right side of the room slowly rose from his chair. And he was not the only one. A few others still looked unconvinced that the young woman before them was truly the last descendant of the Chen family.

His hair had turned completely white, yet his gaze remained sharp and imposing. “With all due respect, Master Kai,” he said in a heavy voice, “we acknowledge everything you have done to protect the Chen family all these years.”

Cale looked at him expressionlessly without saying a word.

“But this young woman appeared far too suddenly.”

The atmosphere tightened instantly.

“Anyone can claim to be an heir.” The old man’s gaze shifted directly toward Naomi now. “But the Chen family is not led by a name alone.”

Naomi stiffened immediately.

Her hands began turning cold. Her legs felt unsteady beneath her. The pressure in the old man’s stare was terrifying.

“If she truly carries Chairman Chen’s blood…” the man continued, his voice growing firmer, “then prove that she possesses the same courage and leadership worthy of this family.”

Silence.

Not a single person dared interrupt.

The pressure inside the hall felt suffocating, so overwhelming that Naomi could hear her own heartbeat pounding in her ears.

But amidst that fear…

Something suddenly resurfaced in her mind.

The library inside the Chen family’s main residence. The old book she had secretly read a few nights ago.

And the stories told by the elderly servant about her father.

Along with everything Park Jin had once said about him. About how Chairman Chen had always stood at the very front, even when everyone else was afraid.

Naomi slowly drew in a breath. Then, for the first time that night, she lifted her head calmly. Her eyes met the old man’s gaze directly.

“Those who bear the Dragon Oath…” Her voice began softly, but little by little it grew clearer, filling the entire hall. “…are bound to protect the Chen family even with their lives.”

The room froze instantly.

Naomi continued without once breaking eye contact.

“They do not seek personal gain.”

“They do not betray the blood they are sworn to protect.”

“And they bow to no one except the rightful heir of the Chen family.”

Several of the older men immediately widened their eyes in shock.

Because that…

Was the ancient oath of loyalty of the Chen family.

A vow that even many of the younger members no longer knew. Only their predecessors still remembered the details of that old oath.

Naomi could see the change spreading throughout the room now.

Shock.

Disbelief.

And slowly… submission.

“I may not know all of you,” Naomi continued more calmly. “I don’t even remember most of my past.”

Her gaze slowly swept across the enormous hall.
