HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 838

“Mr. Kai.” A friendly smile appeared on his face. “I’m very glad you could make it.”

Cale stopped walking. His gaze met Silas’s for several seconds before the corner of his lips lifted slightly. “Really?”

That simple question made Silas laugh. “Of course. This banquet wouldn’t be complete without your presence. In fact, when Miss Naomi said there was a chance you wouldn’t attend, I felt a little... disappointed.”

“Then I’m honored.” Cale’s tone remained flat. He briefly patted Silas on the shoulder. “I’ll enjoy the party.”

Silas smiled broadly, allowing Cale to do whatever he wished. The man’s calm demeanor and apparent lack of interest in being there only made him even harder for Silas to read.

Cale’s gaze then moved past Silas’s shoulder. It swept across the hall, passing over the guests and occasionally returning a faint smile to those who greeted him. Then... his attention settled on a man standing not far from Naomi.

Cale was certain that was Don Falcon.

Exactly as he had predicted—the man had come to this party. He wanted to get close to Naomi. Whatever his objective was, one thing was clear: Silas and Falcon were connected. And Cale would not allow that to happen.

“You must be Cale Miller,” greeted the man Cale had been observing.

Cale smiled faintly. “Yes, and...”

Falcon extended his hand confidently. “Don Falcon.”

“Ah.” Cale chuckled. He accepted the offered hand with a firm shake. “So you’re Don Falcon? Did you come here to collect the money my younger sister borrowed from you?”

Falcon blinked, clearly not expecting Cale to say something so unexpected.

Before their conversation could become any more tense, Silas stepped in and said, “Well, I never expected Mr. Kai to know Don Falcon.” Silas looked closely at Cale. “He’s my guest, Mr. Kai. Oh, are you interested in discussing the business deal we’re about to finalize?”

Cale looked back and forth between Silas and Falcon before grinning. “No, go right ahead. I already have enough headaches with business in Carrington Bay. Besides, TnC Group keeps expanding its presence in this city. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to work together someday.”

“Of course,” Falcon replied this time. “I’m very much looking forward to it.”

Before Cale could respond to Falcon’s remark, someone he recognized approached from behind Falcon. Cale smiled broadly and said, “I didn’t expect you to actually attend this party.”

And because of Cale’s words, Silas, Falcon, as well as Naomi and Chris all followed his gaze.

“Only to see you, Mr. Cale Miller,” Brandon said with a wide smile. “It’s been a long time.”
