HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 974

Berlin's sky was blanketed by gray clouds as a black car slowly came to a stop in the front courtyard of the Falcony Residence. The cold autumn air immediately enveloped everything the moment the car door opened.

Brandon stepped out without haste. His left shoulder still ached whenever he moved, but his stride remained steady, as though the injury no longer held any meaning.

In his right hand, he carried a black urn adorned with gold engravings that encircled its surface. It was not particularly large, yet it was striking enough to catch the attention of anyone who saw it. Brandon carried it calmly, making no effort either to conceal it or to display it.

His face was expressionless, almost devoid of emotion. There was neither sorrow nor anger. It was precisely that calmness that made the atmosphere around him feel even more oppressive.

Several servants standing guard in front of the house exchanged glances. They greeted him as usual, but their eyes could not leave the urn in Brandon's hand. Even so, none of them dared to ask about it.

The front door opened before Brandon had even reached the last step.

"Brandon!"

The voice was followed by the hurried footsteps of a middle-aged woman rushing toward him. Lady Falcony immediately embraced her youngest son without paying any attention to the servants still standing nearby.

"You're finally home."

Brandon gently returned the embrace. "Yes, Mom. I'm home."

She quickly pulled away and examined Brandon's face closely, as though making sure her son was truly standing before her. But her gaze immediately stopped at the bandages still wrapped around Brandon's left shoulder.

Her face instantly turned pale. "You're... hurt?" she asked anxiously, carefully touching Brandon's arm. "What happened?"

Brandon lowered his head for a moment before letting out a quiet breath. "It's a long story."

That brief answer explained nothing, but it was enough for Lady Falcony to understand that her son was not yet ready to talk. Her gaze then shifted to the object Brandon had been carrying all this time.

Only now did she truly notice the black urn adorned with gold engravings. Her brow furrowed deeply. "What's that?"
