“Cole Preston?” Mia Carter looked at Nina Torres.

“Yeah. He holds a dual role at the hospital-OB-GYN and Pediatrics. I’m going through the back door to have him squeeze us in. It makes everything much more convenient.”

Nina winked at Mia. “Pretty smart, right?”

Mia was silent for a few seconds. “But I clearly remember that he used to ignore you.”

Nina rolled her eyes at her. “I wouldn’t sell you out for anything.”

Mia knew Nina would never betray her. However, Cole gave her an indefinable feeling. She wouldn’t call him a bad person, but she wouldn’t call him normal, either.

‘Let me tell you, I did some digging on Cole,” Nina continued. “He’s had a rough life. If it weren’t for his friendship with Ethan Hale, he would have been ruined long ago. That’s why he’s risked his life for Ethan before. Their friendship is like a brotherhood forged in fire.”

Nina seemed quite interested in Cole. But her point of interest was a bit different. “Do you think Cole is gay?”

‘I don’t know. I haven’t spent much time around him,” Mia said, shaking her head.

‘He’s only had Ethan as a friend for all these years. Do you think… he has a secret crush on Ethan?”

The question haunted Nina whenever she thought of Cole.

‘Ethan is handsome and has appeal across the board. I think it’s possible Cole has fallen for him. No, I have to find out if Cole is normal or not!”

Mia didn’t have much of an impression of Cole. During the two years she was married to Ethan, Cole had been
