His Secret Baby: Six Months After Divorce (Mia and Ethan) novel Chapter 434

Chapter 434

Mia shook her head. “No, it’s too expensive. I’ve already found a more suitable option.”

“Oh?” Nina’s eyes twinkled. “What’s the price range?”

“I saw one online for $30,000.”

For the past couple of days, Mia’s attention had been entirely on the baby. Since she wasn’t going out, she had handled almost everything related to the birth. She had researched everything she couldn’t buy yet. That specific center was the one she liked best after comparing several options.

Nina sniffed. “Well, let’s go check it out another day. I can show you the big surprise I have planned for you, too.”

“A big surprise?” Mia paused with a piece of pineapple in her mouth, chewing quickly. “What is it?”

“You’ll find out when the time comes.” Nina winked. “But don’t get too emotional. I don’t want to cry.”

Mia couldn’t help but smile.

Wrapped up in her preparations for the birth, she quickly pushed Miranda’s phone call to the back of her mind.

The next day, Mia and Nina went to tour the center.

A $30,000 price tag was considered average in Everett. However, this place’s environment and service were comparable to the high-end Serenity Postpartum Center. The only downside was that it was in the suburbs, very far from the city center.

It took them nearly two hours to drive there.

Nina complained several times along the way. “If I’d known it was this far, I would’ve passed on it immediately.”

“The distance doesn’t matter. I’ll be living there, it’s not like I’ll be commuting every day,” Mia pointed out.

She knew it was far. The online reviews all said the same thing-the only flaw was the distance.

“But I’m going to have to come see you every other day!” Nina rolled her eyes. “I wouldn’t feel right leaving you

alone in a center!”

Mia thought for a moment. “Could you just hold off for a month? Once I finish my postpartum month and move back, you’ll have plenty to do. You should enjoy the peace while you can.”

Mia planned to hire a postpartum doula by then, but since the baby would be so small, she knew she’d still need Nina’s help. Nina had Toby and her own work; she was going to be swamped.

“I can’t wait that long,” Nina said with a mischievous grin. “Once my little beauty finally gives birth, you think I’m going to let you go?”

Mia: “…”

I’m not waiting until your month is up. We’re going to hang out every night! Besides, my Toby wants to see his future daughter-in-law!” Nina’s tone was cheerful; she couldn’t wait for that day to arrive.

They chatted until they finally reached the destination.

The drive had been exhausting. Mia took a tour and liked the place enough that she wanted to put down a deposit.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Carter. We’ll pick you up from the hospital when the time comes, and we’ll provide a car to take you home once your stay is over. Distance isn’t an issue,” the receptionist said, hearing Nina complain about the drive for the second time.
