“You really won’t do what I want?” I said, trying to sound annoyed and not entirely managing it. “Can you even hear me at all, sir?”

He didn’t even answer, he just kept walking like I hadn’t said a single word, his arm firm around my back, my legs dangling over his other arm like I weighed nothing at all.

“This is not…” I started, but before I could finish, he dropped me.

For half a second my stomach lurched, thinking I was actually about to hit the floor, but then his hands caught me again just as fast and swung me up onto his shoulder instead. My whole body flipped upside down and I let out a loud sound.

“Hey, you are…” I tried again, gripping the back of his shirt for balance, my face now level with his lower back.

He spanked me, one firm smack against my backside and every word I had lined up completely disappeared. I went quiet, my face burning against his shirt, and he didn’t even slow down.

He pushed a second door open with his shoulder and kept walking straight through it like carrying a grown woman upside down over his shoulder was the most normal thing in the world.

I thought he was taking me to the guest room like I usually stayed, but the direction we were headed didn’t match. Past the hallway, up the flight of stairs, straight toward his room.

I had been inside it before, more times than I liked to admit, he reached the door, pushed it open with one hand while still holding me steady with the other, and walked straight to the edge of the bed. Then, without warning, he dropped me down onto it.

I bounced slightly against the mattress, catching myself on my elbows, and looked up at him ready to complain. But the look on his face stopped me. It was different now, all the teasing from a few minutes ago had disappeared completely replaced by a serious look.

“I don’t know what business you have with my brother,” he said, his voice calm in a way that felt almost more unsettling than if he had been shouting, “but I would appreciate it if you don’t mind whatever he’s saying and stay away from him.”

1 blinked at him, caught off guard by the sudden shift. “We have no business,” I said, sitting up properly now. “He came to meet me when you left me inside the hall, and he gave me his card to send me a message. We’ve not said or discussed anything, this is literally the second time I will be meeting him. ”

He just looked at me but didn’t say a word, he just stared, like he was trying to decide whether to believe me or not.

“What?” I said, when the silence stretched too long.

“Nothing,” he said finally. “Just do as I say and that’s all.”

“Well, I feel like I should hear what he has to say first and…”

“Bianca.” He cut me off, sharp enough that I actually stopped talking.

“You are better off not knowing what he has to say,” he said.

“That’s not something you should be the judge of, and…” I didn’t get to finish that sentence either, because he closed the distance between us and kissed me.

Every single time his lips touched mine, I forgot the thousands of warnings I had given myself about not getting tangled up in things like this with him. My hands, which had been ready to push against his chest in protest, ended up curling into his

shirt instead, pulling him closer rather than further away.

“You argue so much,” he said, breaking the kiss, his forehead still close to mine.

“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but you look absolutely breathtaking tonight,” he added, his eyes moving slowly over

Heat rushed straight to my face. “Thank you, sir,” I said, before I could stop myself.

“Sir?” he repeated, one eyebrow lifting.

“Sorry,” I said, not sounding sorry at all. Whenever I was around him, I genuinely found it hard to control myself from being a little bratty about it. It was like something about the way he looked at me brought that side of me right to the surface.

“So we’re doing this now?” he said, his hands settling on my waist, holding me steady.

“I want to fuck you so bad, I’ve wanted it since the second you walked into that hall tonight,” he said, voice dropping fower “But I don’t want to force anything. Take your time.”

Then, just like that, he straightened up and stepped back. “I need to handle something downstairs,” he said, and before I could respond. he gave my backside another light spank as he walked past me toward the door. It closed behind him a second later, and I was left sitting alone on his bed, still fully dressed, staring at the door like it might reopen with some explanation.

It didn’t and I sat there for a while, running everything from tonight back through my head. The car, the hallway, his brother and whatever that card meant. His face when he mentioned it, calm on the surface but clearly holding something back underneath.

I didn’t like being told what to do without knowing why, but something about the way he said it made me decide, at least for tonight, to let it go.

I called Amanda to check on things at home. She picked up almost immediately, sounding cheerful, said she was with my sister and that everything was fine. Then she mentioned that someone had sent over food and snacks, a whole delivery of it, and from the way her voice shifted when she said it, teasing and a little too pleased with herself, I could tell she already knew exactly who had sent it.

She didn’t say his name outright, just kept dragging the moment out, clearly enjoying watching me squirm on the other end of the line.

“Just say it,” I told her.

“Say what?” she said, laughing.

“Amanda!” I said loudly laughing with her too.

The call ended almost an hour later, both of us talking about nothing in particular, and by the time I hung up. Adrian still hadn’t come back upstairs.

I looked down at myself, still fully dressed, dress slightly rumpled from everything that had happened earlier, my lipstick was a mess. I stood up, smoothed the dress down as best as I could, and walked toward the door.

I made my way down the stairs slowly, the house quiet around me except for the low murmur of his voice somewhere below. When I reached the bottom, I found him leaning against the couch, back to me, phone pressed to his ear, a glass of what looked like wine held loosely in his other hand.

He turned when he heard my footsteps and looked at me. I kept walking, holding his gaze the entire time, until I stopped about ten steps away from him.

Without saying anything, I reached up and slowly loosened the tie holding my dress together. He didn’t say a word either, he
