His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 130

Together, the two of them managed to dump Archer onto the living room sofa.

Hearing the commotion, Mrs. Benson stepped out of her room. A look of sheer shock crossed her face when she saw the man sprawled on the couch, but she quickly recovered her composure.

"Cindy is already asleep. Do you need any help out here?"

Virginia shook her head, keeping her voice to a low whisper. "No, it's fine, Mrs. Benson. If there's nothing else, you can head back to bed. Get some rest."

Mrs. Benson nodded, did a quick tidy-up, and went back to her room.

Virginia changed into her loungewear and, just like she used to do five years ago, went to the kitchen to mix him a glass of honey water, intent on making him drink it.

Archer's eyes were half-open, but he was entirely uncooperative, his head drooping lifelessly to the side.

She freed one hand to gently tilt his face up. The moment her fingers grazed his jawline, he suddenly flinched.

His cool, thin lips brushed faintly against her fingertips.

Virginia's entire body seized up. Instinctively pulling her hand back, she scowled and glared at him.

A splash of honey water spilled over the rim, the warm liquid splattering onto the back of her hand. It wasn't hot enough to burn, but it was enough to make her heart skip a violent beat.

As if that wasn't enough, Archer suddenly reached out, seized her wrist in an iron grip, and yanked her forcefully against him.

Caught completely off guard, she lost her balance and tumbled right on top of him.

Before she could even scramble back, his other arm shot up, locking tight around her slender waist.

And before Virginia could even register what was happening, he went a step further, tilting his head up. His lips, tasting heavily of red wine and sharp tobacco, crashed directly against hers...

Virginia's eyes flew wide open. Her heart hammered relentlessly against her ribcage.

She clenched her fists, all the blood rushing straight to her head until her face was thoroughly flushed.

She was just about to rip herself away and yell at him when she realized the hand gripping her waist had gone completely slack. His breathing evened out, and a faint, almost imperceptible snore drifted into the air.

He had actually... fallen asleep...

Virginia froze on top of him, a flash of utter helplessness flashing through her eyes.
