Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem novel Chapter 1876

"Because Leland never officially received the honorary badge that symbolizes the presidency."

"Eventually, the Association compromised and appointed Leland as acting president."

"For years, the two of them have been fighting for the official title, neither willing to yield."

"The Association itself has split into two factions: one backing Gavin, the other supporting Leland."

"When this competition was announced, the two made a bet: whoever's student qualified to represent Zhinora on the global stage would officially become the president!"

"Zander was Leland's brightest protégé and the Association's greatest hope for representing the country. With him out of the picture, Leland's faction has essentially lost."

Old Mr. Gibson sighed heavily.

"Internal political struggles like this aren't uncommon. You see them in many organizations, especially since judging art is highly subjective."

"Honestly, I wouldn't care who became president as long as their moral compass was straight and their skills were sharp."

"But here's the critical issue: Gavin is incredibly pro-Koryon!"

"Koryon is constantly trying to steal our heritage, and it's getting harder to defend against them!"

"If Gavin takes over the Association, we're completely doomed! They won't even have to try and steal anything—Gavin will hand it over on a silver platter!"

Tarquin listened quietly, his brow furrowing.

Old Mr. Gibson continued.

"These ancient arts aren't just about the cultural industry's economic growth. More importantly, these are the legacies left behind by our ancestors. They belong to us. Why should we just surrender them to someone else?!"

"This directly impacts the historical timeline of our civilization. We have a duty to protect it. Don't you agree?"

Tarquin nodded. "I do."

"My point is," Old Mr. Gibson said firmly, "we cannot let Gavin succeed! The Association absolutely cannot fall into his hands!"

"But right now, from what I know, the only person capable of defeating Gavin's students is Emmett."

Tarquin was silent for a few seconds.

"I understand your position. Let me discuss this with Elysia and Emmett. I'll give you an answer a bit later."
