Jae-hyun quickly stepped forward to relieve them of their shopping bags.

"You've been walking for a while. Are you tired?"

Elysia completely ignored him, stepping smoothly around his outstretched hands to walk directly to Tarquin's side.

Tarquin took the bags from her hands, tenderly tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Tired?"

Elysia shook her head.

"Not really. I wasn't sure what Jin-woo and Min-jun Kim would like, so I just picked up some high-end health supplements."

Tarquin pointed. "Is this red bag supplements too?"

It didn't look like it.

Elysia smiled slightly. "No, that one's for you."

Tarquin looked pleasantly surprised. "You got me something? What is it?"

He reached to open it, but Elysia stopped him. "It's just a few pairs of socks. Don't look at them here."

Tarquin chuckled, genuinely curious. "What made you buy me socks?"

Elysia shrugged. "No special reason. I saw them while we were walking around, and the fabric felt really nice, so I just grabbed a few pairs for you."

Tarquin's smile grew radiant. "My wife is the best."

Elysia bit back a smile of her own.

"Alright, alright, they're literally just socks. Wipe that goofy look off your face. Let's get going, it's already past eleven."

"Yeah, okay."

The two of them looked like a perfectly synchronized, deeply in love married couple.

Jae-hyun watched them without blinking. The sweeter they acted, the more suffocated he felt.

He forcefully buried the dark knot in his chest and forced a smile.

"Let's head out together. I have a car waiting right by the entrance."

Tarquin rejected the offer instantly.

"We drove ourselves. We won't follow you. We'll see you at the estate."

With that, he easily hoisted the shopping bags in one hand and leaned down to scoop up Baby with the other. He kissed her cheek and asked,

"Is the ice cream sweet?"

Baby held a cone in her hand. "It's so sweet! Daddy, try a bite."

Tarquin wasn't polite about it at all. More precisely, he was aggressively impolite!
