Holiday Second Chance Romance (Clarice and Trevor) novel Chapter 59

59 The Proposal

Nick POV

+95 Ponts

I enjoyed seeing Thomas and Alexia again. I thought it might be awkward for Trevor to see his parents embrace me, but he didn’t seem bothered a bit. In fact, he smiled as much as I did at seeing Clarice happy. The stew was amazing, and the cookies were almost as good as Winnie’s, but I’d never tell her that.

I smiled when Jack and Chrissy excused themselves halfway through dinner. Chrissy even hugged Trevor goodnight before they left. I had asked both of them to help me plan a surprise for Clarice, since Jack could use magic to do what I asked. It won’t be perfect until I can actually use my own magic, but it is the only place that made sense to ask Clarice to be my wife.

The pledging in our world makes her my wife to the supernatural world, but now that she is mending her relationship with her parents, I know she never really had the chance to walk down the aisle with her father. I want to give her that. I want to give her every dream and desire she ever has. I also want the world both natural and supernatural to know she is mine. We won’t be able to have the ceremony until her divorce is final, but after spending time with Trevor, I don’t think that will be long.

Besides, if I know my mother, she is probably already trying to convince poor Simone that she can’t give up on her destined no matter what’s holding her back. I smile at the thought of our baby girl having a long life, not only with her mommy but both her daddies once Simone gives in. “What has you smiling so brightly,Clarice asks. Just how happy I am that you and I are surrounded by family and love. The closer we get to Christmas, the more fueled my magic feels by the happiness you’ve brought me.I whisper the last part in her ear.

She smiles and presses a quick kiss on to my lips. Half an hour later, Clarice and I walk Trevor and his parents to their rooms. Thomas was able to situate everything in his office, so they will be staying at least until after the New Year and so will Trevor. I take Clarice’s hand and lead her back downstairs. We walk into the lobby and I try not to laugh when Chrissy hides behind the door giving me two thumbs up. We make our way through the lobby and out the back exit of the Inn. As soon as we step out into the cold night air, I wrap my arms

around her to keep her warm.

I lower my lips and kiss her like I’ve been dying to do all night. When I finally break the kiss, I press my forehead against hers. I have a surprise for you. Are you up for a little trip?Excite ment flashes in her eyes. Yes, are we going to teleport again, she asks, and I chuckle. I pull her close to me, and she leans her head against my chest. Seconds later, we appear in the sewing room of her grandmother’s cottage.

She smiles when she realizes where we are, but it fades as quickly as it came tick dame tell me you didn’t use magic to fix more rooms. I don’t really even think we will be reading the cottage now since you talked about building our forever home near the inn she says. Toup her face in my hands. I love that you’re worried, but I promise I haven’t broken any rules s wouldn’t want my father to interrupt us right now, threatening to put his size thirteen boot in my a**

She looks at me confused but giggles. I simply take her hand and lead her out of the room As soon as we step into the hallway she gasps. Candles light up the room where my sister and Jack set up everything perfectly. White and red roses adorn the room and a faux fireplace sits against the wall. A blanket that looks like snow rests on the floor in the middle of the room. I think they even cleaned the entire room before they set up. It looks nothing like the room we saw the first time we came.

Clarice turns to face me and tears edge her eyes. I reach up, wiping them away with my thumb. Why are you crying beautiful? This is amazing. You did all this for me,she asks. 1 did, with a little help from some overgrown elves.” I take her hand and lead her over to the blanket. Before she can sit, I take her hands in mine. Clarice, the moment that you got out of my sister’s truck I knew my life would never be the same.”

Despite the pain and sadness in your eyes, there was a strength that drew me to you. It didn’t take me long to figure out that you were the one I’m supposed to spend my life with. The one that will stand by my side when I take over my duties to the children of the world.Kringle men can be hard. We are stubborn, especially when we are feeling the pressure of the season, but there wasn’t a moment of doubt that you couldn’t handle my cranky a**. In fact, I haven’t smiled this much since I was a kid getting into trouble. You make me happy Clarice. I know you’ve agreed to pledge to me, but I want more. I want everything with you. I want our daughter. I want our future children. I want you to be my wife.

I drop down to one knee and pull out the ring from my pocket. The diamond with the snowflake set inside glitters with the light of the fire. Tears stream down Clarice’s cheeks as I hold her left hand in mine. Clarice Banister, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and marrying me in front of our friends and family?Yes, Nick. I’ll marry you. I want everything you just said with you,” she says. I chuckle when she practically tackles me to the floor. She presses kisses to my face before her lips land on mine.

I’m not sure how long we kiss before I’m finally able to slide the ring on her finger. It fits like it was made for her, because it was. I may have used a little magic with dad’s permission to make sure it was a ring befitting the Queen of Christmas. I spent the rest of the night making love to my gorgeous bride.
