LOUIS’ POV
The time felt right as I brought my face close to hers and kissed her.
Her lips felt incredible, just as I’d imagined they’d feel. I was gentle and slow at first but really I wanted to swallow her whole. As the kiss deepened I felt my hunger for her grow. I tightened my grip on her waist and cupped her face possessively. Imagine my disappointment when we were suddenly interrupted by Anthony who called for Jasmine.
Jasmine immediately pulled her lips away from mine. Why did this have to happen when things were getting good? I asked myself.
"This is the second time," I complained as I buried my head into her neck. I took in her scent a final time before moving away from her. I liked Anthony. I felt we had a better understanding of each other lately since we started the boxing lessons and the secret I was helping him jeep from Jasmine. I thought we were friends so why are you running this for me little man?
He came in the kitchen and told Jasmine that he was having issues with the temperature in his room. I patiently waited for her to handle the situation. Imagine my second surprise when she returned and told me it was late and I should leave.
"Wait, now you’re kicking me out?" I complained to her. After all that we’d just started she was doing this now? Perhaps she had been embarrassed at the thought of Tony seeing her I guessed.
She then came behind me and began to push me toward the front door.
"We’ll probably scare Tony, if we go any further," she said. "We can fool around another time."
"Fool around? Unbelievable," I said as she pushed me towards the front door. She thought I was just messing around with her?
I then stopped walking and turned around to face her.
"Date me," I blurted out.
"What?" she asked me confused.
"Jasmine, will you date me?" I repeated. Formally asking her.
I wanted her to understand that I wasn’t messing around. This was my chance to make it clear I was interested in her. Before the chance slipped away.
Keith Acland definitely didn’t seem like he was done with Jasmine yet. He was definitely going to try something else with her. if that was the case it was best to shoot my shot early so she was aware of my feelings before he tried to snatch her back. It was now or never. Whether she accepted my feelings we would soon find out.
"Louis, what are you saying?" she asked me. "You want us to date?"
She looked at me at me as I’d just said the craziest thing to her. However, I looked at her with a serious expression letting her know I was dead serious.
"Why?" was the only thing she could muster afterwards.
"What do you mean why? You think I kissed you for no reason?" I asked.
"I don’t know," she answered.
"And you why did you kiss back?" I then asked her.
She searched my eyes the dumbfounded look in her eyes increasing. " Louis I’m going through a divorce and I have a child to take care of. You’re only 23, you’re young why would you want to date someone who is going through all that? Don’t you want to date someone closer in age to you?" she asked me.
"I don’t care that you have a child, I don’t care about the divorce. I’m saying, we both like each other so why dont we explore this connection?" I tried to reason with her. I was hoping she would at least give me a chance. "No pressure, we enjoy our time together and we see where it goes. We’re not getting married so you don’t have to worry about all the worries you have right now," I assured her.
"Louis—" she started an expression I couldn’t quite read on her face.
"You don’t have to give me an answer now, just consider it," I interrupted her since I felt I was putting her on the spot. I wanted her to give me a clear answer when she was ready.
I’ll leave now," I then announced. I then went toward the front door and Jasmine walked with me. As my hand touched the doorknob I realized I had forgotten something. I turned back to look at Jasmine.
I’d forgotten my leather jacket by the coat rack nearby, which Jasmine was standing in front of. A mischievous grin appeared on my face.
I got closer to her and leaned forward, Jasmine leaned back and reached her arms out to stop me.
My arms reach past her and grabbed the jacket. "Relax, I’m just getting my jacket," I whispered in her ear. I heard her breathing hitch and I felt satisfied.
Now that I knew she was attracted to me I wasn’t going to go easy on her. I wanted her to regret sending me home.
"Good night, Jasmine," I told as I left.
"Good night, Louis," she told me breathlessly.
