KEITH’S POV
"If you want, I can find out what Ms Towers has been up to," he suggested.
"Now why would I care about that?" I asked him confused. Did he think I was thinking about Jasmine?
"I just thought you might be curious as to what’s possibly occupying her time now since she hasn’t come for a whole week. Perhaps she’s sick?" he said with a mischievous smile. I cocked an eyebrow at him. He words were ones of concern, but his expression didn’t show concern at all. I realized HE was the one who wanted to know about Jasmine.
"One might mistake you for a woman the way you love gossip and being nosy," I told him. As my right-hand man who had been working for me for a long time and knew a lot about me. I knew he found the situation between Jasmine and I quite entertaining.
"What ever do you mean?" he asked as if he had no idea.
"If you weren’t good at your job, I’d have you fired for overstepping into your boss’s business," I warned him in stern voice.
He nervously laughed as he looked at me. "I apologize, sir," he shakily said.
I let out a sigh. "Go ahead then, find out what she’s up to," I allowed him. There was no harm in keeping tabs on her and in the unlikely chance she is sick she wouldn’t be able to contact me since I had cut off all communications with her. Only my representatives would speak to her on my behalf to her.
"Yes, chairman," he responded. He tired to be professional and keep a straight expression, but I could hear the excitement in his voice. What an idiot I thought to myself.
"Now let’s finish up for the day," I ordered him. Only an hour was remaining before our work hours ended.
We finalized some documents and went through schedule for the next day. Edward clocked out first when work was over and left my office. As I packed up my things so I could leave, my mind went back to Jasmine.
