DIANA’S POV
"What do you mean she’s working in a restaurant?" I asked Miles one of my servants who had just given me the update on Jasmine.
"I saw she’s working at a restaurant in the city, the Garden House as a waitress," Miles repeated.
My mouth was agape. At first, I thought he was joking but he expression was not indicating this was a joke.
"Oh god, you’re serious?" I then let out a loud laugh.
"Yes, Ma’am," he said.
"I never would have imagined she would resort to that!" I said as I continued laughing.
I knew Jasmine needed money, since the 1,000USD a month I gave her out of the 50,000USD a month she was supposed to receive, wasn’t going to be enough. Especially since she had to pay bills electricity and water. I had reduced the amount of the allowance she was supposed to receive to teach her a lesson.
I was surprised when I heard she hadn’t come to see Keith at the HQ or at home for almost a week now. It was very odd as for almost a year now, she’d been desperately trying to get Keith’s attention. Stalking him.
I was wondering if she had fallen ill, I never would have imagined it was because she found a job, what more a peasant’s job. Who knew she would become that desperate? Served that bitch right! I then thought to myself and laughed once more.
I guess she finally realized that no matter how hard she tried her situation at her home wasn’t going to change. Her best bet was to get a job!
You took my man and think you can take his money and continue to live off him? You’re lucky he even gave you a house because if I could, I would take it away from you. So go get a humiliating job! If only Keith wasn’t such a people pleaser giving her a nice house and still such a high allowance it was so annoying!
She didn’t deserve that! It’s why as I was in charge of our homes affairs I stopped her servants from working there, cut her allowance, cut her electricity and water. I knew Keith wouldn’t find out because he hated her too much to care to check on her.
But by far my biggest gripe with Jasmine was that she was still Keith’s legal wife. That had to change. Thank goodness it wouldn’t be long before that was no longer an issue. I had worked so hard in the last two years to completely ruin Jasmine’s reputation. Making sure even a pushover like Keith have no choice but to turn against her. I knew he was making plans to divorce her and to marry me. The mistake that had occurred 10 years ago would finally be rectified.
The only good thing about Jasmine was that she had the incredible ability to sabotage herself. Out of desperation to prove her innocence of the things I accused her of she would confront me directly and end up incriminating herself further. Not realising I had cleaned up my tracks well so none of her accusations would stick. She only made herself look crazier.
Out of desperation she would continue to try to prove her innocence. However, she would only push Keith further away from her. Making my work so much easier for me. I didn’t have to plot as much. Also, as Keith cared less and less about her, I could torture her in that house she was staying in without him finding out since he wouldn’t check on her.
Now that I knew why she hasn’t been coming to see Keith in the past week. Even if she hadn’t come looking for Keith for a few days at the end of the day, I knew she still wanted to see him. She was probably devising a plan on how she was going to speak to him. She wanted to make her son the heir, after all. She would obviously make an appearance at the Acland event. I was looking forward to it I wanted to see how she was going to embarrass herself next.
After all these years of patiently waiting for the right time to strike I was finally going to become Mrs Acland.
