"Dear Master Louis,
Your brother has asked me to relay that you are to end your relations with Mrs Acland and return her to her husband."
The email read.
It had left me speechless after I was done reading it the day before.
Why was my brother concerned about my relations with Jasmine? The Acland and Carrington groups had no affiliations with one another. And secondly, what did he mean by; ’return her to her husband’ as if she was an object being passed around?
I was left dumbfounded on the train yesterday, thinking about it over and over again. Up until Jasmine brought me out of my thoughts when the train arrived in Kensington. Something felt off perhaps he might be curious about the situation but they wouldn’t tell me to end things.
An exhausted sigh escaped me. I didn’t have time to deal with this right now. Not when I was already dealing with the mystery surrounding Keith and Jasmine. No matter what my brother said I wasn’t going to end things with Jasmine. Not when protecting her was my main priority. I would ignore the email.
Once I was done with my phone I put it in my jogger pockets and returned to my training. It was an hour later when Tony and Jasmine were done with their lesson.
"Louis," I heard Jasmine’s strained voice as she approached the ring I was training in.
I turned away from my dummy and to Jasmine and Tony. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets at the sight of Jasmine. She looked like she had been through a war zone.
"Did you have fun?" I then asked her but I already knew the answer.
Her eyes narrowed as they glared at me. A playful grin appeared on my face.
"And how was it for you Tony?" I asked him.
"I’m tired but I had fun," he said. He definitely looked a bit more energetic than Jasmine who was completely out of it. Then again the coach would go a bit easier on a child compared to an adult.
" That was absolute torture," she complained. "That coach has no mercy whatsoever."
I knew exactly what Jasmine meant because I found Freeman’s training to be gruelling as well. "I know but she is good at what she does," I told her.
"Oh, nonsense, you’re just weak," a voice said from behind Jasmine. Coach Freeman came from behind her. Jasmine flinched upon hearing her voice not expecting to see her. "You have absolutely no balance in your movements," she commented.
"So will your girlfriend and kid be coming back for more lessons?" Freeman asked me.
My eyebrows sprang at her comment and I shook my head in disbelief. Now I had stopped coming for lessons with Freeman over a year ago, however, I’m sure that in that time she would have known I wouldn’t have had a 9-year-old child.
"We can have you and Tony train here twice a week?" I suggested as I looked at Jasmine. "What do you think?"
"I don’t know if I’ll even survive the next lesson but alright," she agreed.
"Thats the spirit! You’ll get better with time," Freeman said and let out a belting laugh. She then slapped Jasmine’s back in encouragement.
Jasmine winced and rubbed her back.
