I..,got..it. I constructed the words. I felt my heart hammer in my chest and a wave of relief wash over me. Louis had received my letter! I had been so nervous that he hadn’t caught on but he had.
I had suggested in my note to Louis that when he got my letter he should inform me he had received it in his next message similarly to how he had told me to signal to him with emojis.
When I wrote my letter to Louis I wrote a writing system I thought up so we could communicate more easily. My idea was write our typical messages to each other but then after every third or fourth letter in the message it would be a word that was
I thought it could be an effective way to communicate with no suspicions from Keith.
Looking at the message again every word after the third word was his message. Louis had received the letter oh thank goodness! I was so relieved.
I looked down at his message again and typed, my response that contained my secret coded response as well using the after three words method.
’No worries. All good.’
’Good,’ was my response to let him know I acknowledge his message.
"Update is unexpected I never could expected to be him
Louis encoded message red as he referred to my update in my letter about Edward and the whole investigation.
Only a week until ransom. Still no progress." I said to him. Our messages were a bit broken but there was only so much we could say whilst hiding our code in the messages. Luckily they were easy enough to understand the message we were trying to get across.
"I want to leave will you be there?" I asked him.
"Of course. Is it safe to do so?"
"I’m working on it" I answered him. I had written down the address of Keiths estate in my letter to Louis so he would know where to go incase he didn’t know.
"Ready when you are..."
I brought the phone to my chest. Now that I had a clear way to communicate with Louis this changed everything. The only thing left handle was finding Tony. I had to figure out what it was that I was missing. What is it that wasn’t quite making sense about Edward?
***********(
For the rest of the day I was looking through my phone talking to Louis as I continued brainstorming in my room. I hadn’t seen Keith since he left me in his room earlier.
I felt a hammering in my chest as the pressure of the coming week weighed on me. I got out of my phone and began to scroll through my phone absentmindedly. As I went through my notes and contacts, I found a number with a name labelled ’Carolyn Kensington.’
Who’s that I asked myself at first. Then I suddenly remembered it was the number of the elderly woman who lived next the apartment next to Diana’s in Kensington. I recalled I had taken her number to ask further questions when I had more to ask.
Right now we had identified Edward to be the perpetrator was he the man she had seen with Diana once? It was a suddenly afternoon. Hopefully she wasn’t busy.
I then dialed the number and waited for it to ring.
"Hello? " the familiar voice of the elderly lady answered.
"Hello, Carolyn?" I said.
