Chapter 289: The fear

I lifted up one of the guns as I inspected it further. It had a silencer at the top

I’ve never had to use guns in my life and never thought I would have to but here we are. Life is full of surprises.

"You use the safety here, and then you can put," the bodyguard informed me.

"This is good," I started. I took the gun, and then shot at the crate box to test it. The silencer ensured that the bullet wouldn’t make a sound. The bullet hit the box and then ricocheted to the side.

I then turned around and looked at the my 5 bodyguards and the 15 new bodyguards I had hired to help Jasmine and I find Tony.

"I want you all to take one weapon and keep it on you at all times. It’s going to important soon," I instructed the men. "Wait on standby for my instruction. We’ll be moving out soon."

"Yes, sir!" They all told me. They went to the crate and picked up a weapon together with the bullets boxes that were beside them. The 15 men then turned away from me leaving the garage and I remained with my 5 bodyguards.

I watched as they left as my lips pressed into a thin line while I contemplated. I hoped Jasmine and I would get through what was coming in the coming days.

My phone message notification sounded. I quickly took it out saw it was a message from Jasmine. "Lets go back to the apartment," I told me men.

My bodyguards packed everything up and we made our way to the elevator.

It had three days since we started secretly communicating she was going to escape from Keith.

When I arrived in my office I immediately went to my desk and took I looked outside my window and saw the traffic below. It was late in the night and I had work tomorrow but I couldn’t bring myself to sleep.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Wasn’t Edward the one who had Anthony I thought to myself.

"Who?’’ I replied.

"His half brother."

My eyebrows shot up as I tried to figure out what she was saying. As in Keith’s half brother? He had one? I thought to myself. I don’t recall. To be hair I didn’t know much about the Keith’s family aside from he fact that his parents divorced due to his father’s infidelity. I didn’t realize Keith’s father had put a baby on his mother as well.

I picked up the telephone at my desk and called one of my men.

"Create a file for me on Chairman Aclands’ half brother. I want to know everything about him," I said to him. I needed to everything about him.

’Okay, we’ll investigate together I responded to Jasmine afterwards.

"I have to leave soon then. I’ll keep you updated’

"Okay." I replied.

Two days I thought to myself. In two days I might get to see Jasmine.

About an hour later I received an update on Keith’s half brother Kolton from one of my men. I opened the file and began to read through.

I read about his upbringing with his mother in Yorkshire City in a home Keith’s father had purchased for them to live in. He saw her for a while after his divorce to Keith’s mother and then moved on to other women.

It appears Keith’s father paid Kotlon’s mother child support and even allowed him to work for the Acland Group.

The following day I woke up and prepared for work as usual the day and went to Carrington HQ. It was increasingly getting difficult to focus on work. With Tony and Jasmine to worry about how could I?

Somehow I managed to get the work that needed to be done finished and I ran home waiting for any updates from Jasmine.

’She messaged me late in the night to inform me of her plan.

"I’m coming out tommorow.’

"Afternoon around 2pm."
