Chapter 291: How could she?

KEITH’S POV

The following morning I left early. Jasmine and I had. I opened the door to my room in the early hours of the morning. I found Jasmine still sleeping in my bed.

"See you later," I told her and gave her a final kiss on her forehead. Despite the situation I felt oddly calm. Her being there and here emotionally was a sign it would all work out.

I left early the police had yet another lead investigation. It was yet another new house of Edward’s.

Upon arriving at the property I went inside and joined the officers and my men. I observed them as they scoured the property. I spent the whole morning there as I given updates on the property and what Edward used it for. As the hours passed it was becoming clear that it was probably just another diversion from Edward to throw us off.

It was in the afternoon at around 2:30pm that I received a call from one of my men who were at my estate. I wondered why they were calling as I answered the call.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Good afternoon, Sir...your wife.." The voice said breaking.

"My wife?" I asked in confusion. Jasmine? What had happened to her?

"She...she..." he explained.

"Out with it already!" I snapped at him to just say it.

"Mrs Acland has escaped the sir!" He hurriedly said.

"What!" I snapped out in horror. "What do you mean she escaped!?"

"I apologise, sir."

"How the hell did that happen? weren’t you watching her!?"

"We apologise we din’t know how it happened..."

"Uh, forget it. I’m on my way," I informed the guard. I would see for myself what had happened.

"I’m leaving! I said to the officers and my men on the sight.

"Is something wrong sir?" The police officer on duty asked me.

"I have an issue at home to take care of," I explained. "Send me an update on the situation."

No. I said to myself. Tell me this is a joke. A cruel joke. "Faster, I told the driver.

"Yes, sir," he obliged and stepped on the gas.

About half an hour later I back home. I left the car as soon as as it parked in my estate drive way. I was met with two bodyguards by the mansion entrance.
