I Choose Him, Your Worst Enemy novel Chapter 112

Wynette's thoughts were a complete mess the entire night.

Meanwhile, Adriel and Jamie ended up completely drunk.

Looking at the two men quietly leaning there without causing any trouble, Wynette said to Alice, "I'll take you guys back to the hotel first."

Wynette called over the bar staff to help carry Adriel and Jamie into the car.

Adriel sat in the passenger seat with his eyes closed, while Jamie and Alice sat in the back.

Thankfully, the hotel wasn't too far from the bar.

In the back seat, Jamie had been clinging to Alice like a needy puppy ever since getting into the car. Tilting his head, he buried his face in the crook of her neck.

Alice's face stayed cold as she tried to push the man hanging all over her away in disgust. "Jamie, you stink. Move. Stay away from me."

The moment Jamie heard her words, he mumbled that he didn't stink and hugged her even tighter, stubbornly refusing to let go.

He looked so wronged and pitiful, like he'd just been abandoned.

Even though Alice looked completely disgusted, she didn't keep trying to shove him away.

She simply let Jamie hold her while turning her head to stare out the car window.

Through the rearview mirror, Wynette watched the interaction between the two of them before slowly looking away.

Her gaze drifted toward Adriel for a second, and her grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.

After only one glance, Wynette quickly looked away again.

The car stopped in front of the hotel entrance, and Wynette got out to help Alice carry Jamie out of the car.

Looking at the man practically hanging off Alice's body, Wynette wanted to help bring him upstairs.

But Alice refused.

She glanced toward the passenger seat and said to Wynette, "I can manage. If you leave Adriel here alone, what if someone takes him and assaults him?"

Wynette laughed softly.

Adriel had probably already passed out by now anyway, and besides, she'd only be gone for a minute.

But Alice insisted she didn't need help, so in the end, Wynette could only call over a hotel employee to help Alice bring Jamie upstairs.

Only after Alice helped Jamie into the elevator did Wynette return to the car.

Adriel had been quiet the entire ride, never making any trouble all the way home.

Wynette opened the car door and bent down to unfasten his seatbelt.

Right then, Adriel suddenly opened his eyes.

His deep eyes were clouded with drunkenness as he looked at Wynette with a gentle smile.

Caught completely off guard by his gaze, Wynette's heart instantly started pounding wildly.

"Can you walk on your own?" Wynette snapped back to her senses and asked.

Adriel didn't answer. He simply followed her out of the car when she straightened up to leave.

The moment the car door closed, Adriel took the opportunity to wrap an arm around Wynette's shoulders and buried his head against her shoulder as he muttered, "I feel... dizzy. My head hurts."

He acted so unsteady that Wynette panicked and instinctively wrapped an arm around his waist, half-hugging him to keep him upright.

At this point, she couldn't even tell whether he was dizzy or just had a headache anymore.

The moment he leaned against her shoulder, nearly all his weight pressed onto Wynette.

The sudden pressure knocked a breath out of her.

After finally steadying herself, Wynette pushed lightly at the man leaning against her. But Adriel had already gone limp again, with no sign of waking up.

Looking at him like this, Wynette couldn't resist reaching out and pinching his firm waist.

The man leaning against her didn't react at all. Looks like he really was drunk.

Seeing that, Wynette let him continue leaning on her shoulder while supporting him toward the house.

Meanwhile, the moment she pinched him, Adriel nearly bared his teeth in pain, yet still forced himself to pretend nothing happened.

His tightly shut eyes cracked open just a sliver as he secretly stared at Wynette's side profile, feeling ridiculously pleased with himself.

He'd had a little too much to drink, but Adriel definitely wasn't drunk enough to lose the ability to stand.

This man bought such a huge fingerprint lock and never even registered his fingerprint? Then what exactly did he buy it for?
